AJ hasn't fought anyone in the top 60 forget his distorted WBC ranking 7 lol as for corpses the average age of Joshua's opponents is embarassing he should be sponsored by Stena stairlift.

AJs next opponent might be Zavarotyni currently boxrec ranked 230 whereas as Dillian Whyte is 88 and is undefeated as an amateur & professional including a knockdown one sided win over Anthony Joshua.

For me Dillian Whyte beats Joshua now or in the future.

I've not seen White box yet but hope he continues to win and improve: he may get a shot at Joshua though Match room will not match them up if there's a chance of the Olympic Gold winner losing - England isn't Macau.

Funny you say that, how long until matchroom put Joshua in with a Kwanpichit equivalent you think? Another contender type...

... Admittedly Kwanpichit wasn't as god as his record and he should have had a loss to the Filipino who had him ALL over the place

I dont know why are you quoting me when your "response" has no logical connection to what I said. I get it though you hate AJ and hope that some guy who beat him in his early armature fights will beat him as a pro.

I don't hate him I just don't rate him. Anthony Joshua is a fake hype job and I really think Dillian Whyte will destroy him and after this IFL interview we might soon find out from 6 min 30 onwards

They have both achieved the same as a pro, absolutely nothing. Also does anyone not agree with the fact that savon comfortably beat AJ in the 1st round of the Olympics? No one seems to bring this up.
It gets brought up all the time, and rightly so. Joshua's performances at the 2011 worlds were more impressive anyway and told us all we need to know.

Something people don't seem to bring up is the circumstances regarding the Whyte/Joshua fight, namely one fighter masquerading as a novice when he should have been open class. Isn't that why Dillian left the am game under a cloud? Ringers are not good, can lead to fighters getting hurt.

Maybe it's just on the threads I've been reading, but it seems to get brought every time anyone mentions the Olympic medal. It's far from a forgotten.

I do agree Savon won though.

Mickey, less so with Cammerale I remember that as being very close.
It was close. Joshua deservedly best Cammarelle the year before in the worlds though, so he showed he could do it. Amuses me when people insinuate Joshua has had it all on a plate.

He was unlucky in the 2011 worlds. How often do British lads pick up world silver medals away from home?

I thought Whyte had a good amount of experience in kickboxing, but he'd only had a few fights as a boxer?

It's all hazy but I'm sure he should never have operated at novice level and should have been made open from the off. His am career ended under a bit of a cloud and I'm sure it was down to this.

If he hadn't had any amateur fights then surely he should have started at novice level?

It was Whytes 1st AM fight and Joshua 4th or 5th. Not sure why people say Whyte should not have been it fighting as it was his boxing AM debut simple as that.

You have to take into account he's previous kickboxing I think. Wasn't he British kickboxing champion or something?
Trainers and the fighter himself have a duty of care to be honest. Not sure how common it is thesedays but a few years ago there were plenty of ringers about. The recently arrived Pole having his "first amateur bout" but accidentally failing to mention the 40 junior fights he had back in Poland etc

Its not really as simple as that though is it? What if someone spent ten years sparring the best fighters in the world, had 3/4 pro fights then decided to have a go as an amateur. Would it be fair for him to compete at novice level? I'm not saying this was the case with Whyte but he clearly had a lot more experience than you would expect from a so called novice fighter. There seems to be a couple of Whyte's biggest fans on here but they never attempt to clear up why he left the amatuer code in dodgy circumstances. I'm sure it was down to him masquerading as a novice when he should have been open class.

Anyway, I'm sure Joshua has come a little way since that fight. We will find out exactly what's what when they do fight. Fully expect Joshua to prevail even though I am a bit of a Whyte fan myself.

You need to accept that Dillian Whyte beat and knocked down Anthony Joshua in his FIRST Amateur boxing match and stop trying to make excuses for AJs comphrensive defeat...it really did happen I've seen the video

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=BDSH8cXtFRQ

Anthony Joshua is 25 years old and Dillian Whyte 26 this was not a MAN v BOY contest.

It's funny the way you and other AJ lovers say that defeat meant nothing it was in the amateurs but so was winning the amateur Olympic Gold medal.

The fact that AJ has only lost three times to Whyte, Nistor and Majidov makes Whyte comfortable knockdown victory over AJ more relevant and sets up a genuine grudge fight hopefully for the British Title in Summer and I believe a win by KO for Whyte.

I think Joshua would take Whyte out, although neither have really been tested yet. Some of the comments about AJ being fake are a bit deluded and from people who clearly no nothing about boxing. Aj is a talent whether you like his personality or not. Whyte is good but I don't think is at the same level or has improved at the same rate as AJ since they fought in the AMs. AJ will get to world title level. That said I think I will be rooting for Whyte should they fight. Always like the underdog and the fighter who has had to climb the ladder.

Why did Whyte leave the ams under a cloud with accusations of being a ringer then? Wasn't he forced out? You can still go straight in as an open amateur over here despite not having ANY amateur experience.

I'm no AJ lover, nor a Whyte hater ( far from it, I like the look of him, seems a decent fella too whenever ive heard him speak, better than Joshuas fake persona for sure ) I just don't like what can be considered to be cheating.

All I know is that a 21 year old Novice beat on his debut beat a more experienced 4/5 fight 20 year old Novice.

Why did the ABA and GB squad allow AJ to fight in the 2012 Olympics when a year before in 2011 he was found guilty of posession with intent to supply which would of prevented him fighting in USA had the Olympics been held there?

What boxing ban did he receive from the ABA for being involved in drugs ?

Anthony Joshua was "injured" after the Olympics and then did not represent GB again then turned pro nearly a year later. Was he being well paid by taxpayers money while recovering from his "injury" and deciding which professional promoter to choose?

Kickboxing's a different sport, he had experience of getting hit around the head but the two aren't really comparable to me.

I'm not talking about Joshua's drug dealing. I'm talking about Whyte's amateur career and the dodgy accusations and dodgy disappearance from the unpaid ranks.

Be nice to clear it up once and for all.

Good to actually see a bit of personality from AJ. Seems a good guy but too much media training for my liking. Fury has said much worse on Twitter in person, he just doesn't give a fvck about what people think, it's refreshing.

Dodgy is a word that surely applies to your hero Anthony "Future Peoples Champion" Joshua.

I have said I don't know why Dillian Whyte turned professional.

Can you please take an objective look at the odd events surrounding Anthony Joshua's amateur career, his criminal conviction, lack of ban and extended paid "injury" before turning pro.

Difference is that, despite being a born again Christian with a short fuse, Fury has never pretended to be some 'holier than thou' Monk. Nor does he take to twitter to preach hyperbolic preacher-like posts about 'inspiration' and 'being humble' every 2 minutes, juxtaposed with black and white, artsy images of himself. Both guys have egos, but AJ seems to me to have a high level of self-conscious vanity. The guy is humble so long as everyone is bowing to him and worshipping him as the next big thing. Clearly the minute someone gets up from a pew in the church of AJ, then the guy starts throwing his toys out of the pram.

Put the dummy back in mate. I'm not sure what's stronger, your hatred for Joshua or your hard on for Whyte. Why people can't ever seem to like both fighters in these instances I don't know. It's not football although some people vehemently support and defend "their" fighters like they would do a football club thesedays. Strange

Joshua was ABAE's golden boy that's why he got away with whatever he liked, pretty much. Had he been crap then they would have banned him and his international career would never have been.
They had him earmarked for the Olympics for a while I bet.

 the way some people on the forum pick apart every last aspect of fighter's personality is embarrassing at times. AJ seems a great prospect, it remains to be seen if he can fulfill his potential but as a boxing fan from Britain, I don't understand the desire to see him fail just because he's massively hyped and seems overly media trained. The lad could be great for British boxing yet bitter individuals want to see him fall!
