Andy Lee v Peter Quillin
Re: Andy Lee v Peter Quillin
Good fight in patches. I had Lee ahead by one but the 4th could have swung any way. Agree with above, second Lee knockdown was more of a foot tangle than a punch so he can count himself unlucky to lose a point there. In saying that, Lee will be very happy with that result I'd imagine.

I fell asleep and missed the fight!! Just woke up to watch Garcia v Peterson! Wish all fights were that early! Gutted! Well done Andy Lee! Proved me wrong!

Not a bad result for lee, glad he's still got the prestige of being the title holder without losing.
Really fucks me off at all these fighters coming in overweight when the other fella is killing himsrlf to make weight. It's cheating plain and simple

Great comeback from Lee, he showed real heart to get back into that fight, i thought he deserved the nod. Quillan was poor in the second half, either he was done at the weight or just wary to commit.
Makes for an interesting rematch.

I had 114-113 to Andy Lee thought the fight would have been better like commentary said Quillins work rate was awful

Good fight & great job Andy Lee, up against it there. Quillin's work-rate as others have said is atrocious & he kinda gets by on that jab-jab big right hand schtick. Very one-dimensional.
How much wreckage would GGG wreak upon Quillin, as well? Some sort of humanitarian organisation would have to be involved.

I had it 113-112 Lee,it was a cagey fight which exploded with the occasional KD,I thought the feet got tangled for Quiilin's second one,I was jumping about mad when Andy scored a KD in the 7th as I had him for KO7 in the prediction league,Lee showed great heart and determination but I can't help think Peter gave the fight away with his poor work rate,Quiilin didn't look tired so maybe he was wary of Lee's power, either way his corner should be livid
Draw seems a fair result

From round 6 on Quillin didn't show much ambition barring the odd right hand. Very lacklustre performance on his part. It looked like he had the power to get Lee out there on more than a few occasions.
But well done to Lee he stuck it out and boxed well in the 2nd half. I have no problem with a draw.
Where next for both if no rematch?

BJS should be next for Lee. Don't much care what Quillin does next tbh, but he should seriously consider moving up to SMW.ShadrachSimmo wrote:Where next for both if no rematch?

Lee should get BJS, yeah, but let's face it: Danny "I had cancer! I may not be able to fight worth a damn but I had cancer! Put me on TV!" Jacobs (who I believe came back after suffering a terrible misfortune outside the ring, not sure about that, it's never mentioned) is also under the aegis of Haymon Not-A-Promotional Company, LLC.
So St. Al might send Quillin to the sauna for a while & then set up a fight where he makes sure neither of them can win the belt but the WBA will name Jacobs as "Champion Over Cankers, Malignancies, Tumours & Growths In Recess" & both of them can pretend there definitely isn't a Kazakh in the division & that anyone outside of fat Septics cares about either fighter & Al'll probably crown both of them PBC champion (over cancer) & then I'll go on the current scene & be tempted to say something near the knuckle about Jay-Z & that conspiracy nut dude who posts on there will call me out for being a racist.
Then Al'll get Jermain Taylor out of prison for shooting his entire suburb & replace his brain with something functioning & Quillin can cut his leg off to make the weight & then he can not-unify with Taylor for the PBC belt.
& some cunts on the Current Scene will still bitch that it's Golovkin's fault for not signing over his first-born child to St. Al & keep swallowing the inane bullshit that follows that circus around.
I'm kinda looking forward to it, really.

Superb Dats
Re: Andy Lee v Peter Quillin
I don't know what to make on Andy Lee. He can be nice and fluid/ rhythmic at times. Other times he reminds me a little of Andrew Facey, no disrespect to Facey there. He seems to have a very wide stance and at the start of that 8th round I can't tell whether he's coming out to touch gloves or whether he's just got his right arm stuck out like some rapier.
He must be pretty accomplished in any case. I like his robe, black with the red trim and the clover thing. Very simplistic, stylish. Tidy. He seems to have a touch of the workman about him though, imho.
