Do Luke and Tommy come from areas that are represented mostly be each?mickey1975 wrote:No way they would put Josh on, there'd be no stadium left. It will be tasty enough, FC and KR don't get on!
Luke is going to turn Coyle's face into hamburgerhandsofstone wrote:I expect Campbell to win but I'm not as confident as most,Luke hasn't been the places Coyle has,Tommy's shown a few times, how to get up and win,and he's gonna get right in Campbell's face,he won't be overawed he's desperate for this fight and could make things ugly in there
Luke has been improving and seems to be sitting on his shots a bit more but we'll learn a lot about him that night
I'm not sure, I'm not from Hull but I think Luke is KR, Tommy FC. I know Tommy is from Hessle Road, not sure about Luke. It's a massive thing over there, I'll no doubt get stick if they fill a stadium, Hull/Leeds/Traveller lover... It just goes on. Not my fault I watched a lot of amateur boxing in Yorkshire a few years ago!ste1983 wrote:Do Luke and Tommy come from areas that are represented mostly be each?mickey1975 wrote:No way they would put Josh on, there'd be no stadium left. Luke is an FC fan, Tommy is KR. I suspect that Sky will try and build the fight on this basis.ste1983 wrote:Do Luke and Tommy come from areas that are represented mostly be each?mickey1975 wrote:No way they would put Josh on, there'd be no stadium left. How come campbell fought at kr for his debut? Be stupid to promote it on a club basis in my view, potential trouble on the night which will deter casuals and he also could with the whole city behind him going forward. No petty rugby league grudgesmilpool wrote:Luke is an FC fan, Tommy is KR. Luke made his debut at Craven Park (Hull KR's ground) as the KC Stadium (Hull FC & Hull City) wasn't available.freddydoesdallas wrote:How come campbell fought at kr for his debut? Fair enough, although i think just the thought of going to Hull is enough to put people off!!! (City of Culture now though)milpool wrote: Luke made his debut at Craven Park (Hull KR's ground) as the KC Stadium (Hull FC & Hull City) wasn't available.
Although the rivalry between FC & KR can be quite fierce, it's doubtful that it would spill over at this event, or certainly not sufficient enough for people to think about not going.
Most of my mates are FC fans, whereas I'm KR through and through and we'll all go to this together as we have for all the previous fights that have taken place in Hull recently.
Tommy is more of a face in Hull and most people would love to see him to succeed but the consensus is that Luke wins this fairly comfortably.
It's going to be a strange one as I think the majority of the crowd will be torn as both are very popular. Luke is seen as a superstar that's helped put Hull on the map whereas Tommy is the loveable local boy and a bit of a 'people's champion'.mickey1975 wrote:Tommy is more of a face in town, Luke is very popular himself. They need a way to sell the fight so Campbell has been told to talk some shite about Coyle. Usual bullshit, 'these two really don't like each other', just trying to sell the fight. Don't know why they've got Campbell to do it though, if he goes too far some people will turn against him, better off having Coyle do it.mickey1975 wrote:They've already turned on each other... Well, it works. Loads going over from here already.ste1983 wrote:Came across as staged as eff to memickey1975 wrote:They've already turned on each other... Luke showing a bit of spite.
It's an eliminator for the title..Boxing Prospect wrote:Just after the fight was confirmed the WBC placed both fighters in to their top 15 (Campbell #14 and Coyle #15)
Just before wasn't it so the 'eliminator' tag could be addedBoxing Prospect wrote:Just after the fight was confirmed the WBC placed both fighters in to their top 15 (Campbell #14 and Coyle #15)
