I dont think weel see arfan at light heavy again. At the moment there isnt anyone i think. so this kind of belt if done propelry could be good for situations like that

I like that they've replaced the masters. As long as they keep it over 10 rounds with no bronze or silver then no qualms from me

Being as it's been introduced by the board I don't think there will be any silver bronze or international belts etc the masters titles owner introduced these purely as a cash cow

I am against the proliferation of meaningless titles from the sanctioning bodies, genre: WBC Baltic Union, WBO European; etc... but I never really had a problem with the Masters titles because they were basically a hook for a promoter to hang a small hall show on. The casual punters always like to see a belt awarded at the end of the fight but true fight fans know that they don't count towards the rankings and that they are basically a trinket. If this Challenge belt is in a similar vein then I have no objection to its existence...

Cheers for clearing that up mate

With only 2 versions rather than 6 as was the case with Masters belts and people selling them as 'Challenge Belt' fights rather than using the word Championship I think the Challenge belts are great, creating an incentive for lower level boxers and allowing small shows to have a trophy up for grabs.
I would have been pleased to win one.

I agree Lee. I don't think they have devalued boxing at all. More often than not its a competitive fight too.

Would be great if boxrec recognised the title, not in the titles category but just on the boxers profile.

There definitely seems to have been a rise in the number of area and English level contests.

Where have you seen this news if you don't mind me asking and what reason was given?
