Didn`t he once stink the joint out in his home town and then asking for a rematch as it would be "a nice wee holiday to fight him on his own patch"
He never troubled Murray from what i can remember. Jim Watt was blowing smoke up his arse, but he was never winning the fight.

Think you might be talking about the Shafikov fight? He chucked it with an injured hand. He was pish poor that night. Don't think it was Watt blowing smoke up his arse, the fight was televised on ITV I'm sure. I actually had him ahead against Murray when he got stopped. Got too cocky. He was one of they awkward types that are hard to score though.

How does it work with prison sentencing? That couple (don't remember the names) that were in politcs, (or one was) that got done for a parking ticket swap, both got 8 months but only did 2 (25%) but other people do 50% time severed of the sentance given out. I understand the good behavour sytem but if someone is given say 2 years and they do say 7 months which happened with a Chelsea hooligan a while back. Why not of just said a year?

Why not just say 7 months.
The reality is that it is probably smoke and mirrors to make the general public believe that sentences are longer than they really are.

Yeah I agree. Just say the time they're going to serve.

If you get 2, it's nine months with tag. It doesn't mean a thing to anyone in there. I could walk on the wing in Hull tomorrow and people would just say hello!

What, wait a minute you don't have to find the hardest guy and pick a fight to get respect or you will be bum fucked in the showers, people just say hi?

I think the Genral rule is short sentences you do half. Long sentences you do 2 thirds.
Life sentences say life 20 years, you do a minimum of 20 years before you can be considered for parole.

You do half of your sentence in jail, and have in the community on Licence, meaning that you can be recalled to prison if you don't do the plan set out by probation.

Just spoke to a kid in there who knew more than me! And had his phone! Shit and a shave, that's all it is.

It's bang on the sentencing guidelines. Category 2 offence with a discount for guilty plea etc.
If he behaves himself he should get his tag so potentially home after 6 to 8 weeks.

A friend of mine had the exact same sentence for the same thing, this time last year. Let out after 4 months, with the remainder on Tag

That seems strange mate. He would only serve 4.5 months so a tag for 2 weeks .......

He didn't even inflict the damage, his mate did but got away. Ha had a little previous, nothing mad. CID passing notes to the judge in court because he was allegedly a bit of a player in other things.

I am not saying that the criminal justice system is perfect, but I don't believe that.
If he got 10 years then there is no way the cases were "very similar".

Country is a total joke! You get more time for robbing a bank nowadays than you do for killing someone! Money has more value than human life in the 'justice' system. A friend of mine got murdered by another boy. We all grew up in the same housing scheme. Guy that done it was out after 5ish years (give or take a month or so). Culpable homicide and deminished responsibility because he was under the influence of drink and drugs. I know of a good few similar cases from different folk from the area I grew up.
Another boy we grew up with stabbed a fellow to death and was out after a similar sentence and I remember saying to a mate 'guaranteed some other poor pudendum will get it from him' and sure enough they did. Another murder and the boy was only 29. Only silver lining was it was another scumbag that he murdered that time. He got 20 odd years and he'll be out. 50 odd years old and still more than capable and the same will no doubt happen again! Scottish justice! Wouldn't trust the powers at be here to run a fuckin bath never mind the country!

It's true. He only hit him once. His mate who got away hit him a few times.

Yes, there is, but his brother passed away this week and his brother in law earlier this year so he doesn't need me posting stuff on forums.

Money does seem more important to the courts, I met a chap who got 11 years for Carousel, fraud, basically a VAT scam.
