Bad business model where you have custom and clients (fighters) as they feel they have no choice as Sky made matchroom the only viable choice.

Fck em, they got the Sky contract which hugely damaged boxing in this country. After 22 years I cancelled Sky Sports this year and do not miss it. Been an utter pile of shite all year
I pulled the trigger and cancled my Sky yesterday and i made of a point of telling them why i.e. Im a big fan of Boxing and we are being bent over, dont know if that will get logged somewhere or not but thought i would let them know.

Just for a laugh, my Sky bill with Multiroom , BT Sport, allegedly and a load of repeats of frends all in HD was £143 per month and with a few PPVs thrown in, all in for the year was over £1700!!!

As soon as i sat down and crunched the numbers i had to bin them off. I just paid it every month direct debt and didnt really think to much about it. I bet loads of people are the same, just plodding on with it and not really thinking of the cost and if there getting value for money.

Sorry, a little of topic i know!
How the fvck can you just plod on paying £143 a month ? I really think SKY have shot themselves in the foot by paying way too much for poofball over way too many years and expect all other sports fans to pick up the tab , it really isn't cricket is it ? or is it ?
If sky didn't pay crazy money for premier league rights someone else would have.

It's their bread and butter

I am cancelling it today. I have watched about 2 or 3 games this season (70 minutes of the City Arsenal game last night). It is utter dross. I only have it so I don't miss boxing fights.

Most premier league games are dross. They still try to sell Liverpool v Newcastle on the 2 exciting games they had 20 years ago

I just emailed them complaining about their recent boxing coverage as well. Utter joke how we get treated.

If you have been a long term customer of sky and have the sports package you need to call them up and say you are looking to move Virgin and need a reduction to stay. Go loaded with the facts about the saving on the big kahuna deal with Virgin and I guarantee you sky will knock 20-40% off your bill for the best part of the year. I did it when I realised I was paying over £100 a month and now a number of my mates have done the same.

To be honest i'm just not very organised with money, not on the ball at all, stupid really!

It all came to a head when my dish blew off the wall in the strong winds and they basically told me it wasnt there problem because i wasnt under a contract at the time. I was like, well i'm paying....... and they tried signing me back up but i was like fornicate this. Jibbed um now anyway
