What's going on at matchroom ???
Looking at the schedule for next year matchroom have 1 show on the 30 th jan & Frampton vs Quigg on the 27th of February which is a joint promotion apart from them 2 nothing else planned for the first 3 months of the year . Eddie looks like he's struggling to fill the sky dates for next year Degale,Selby ,Eubank,Brook look like they won't commit to uk dates , looks to me like Al Haymon pulling all the strings .
Re: What's going on at matchroom ???
Isn't Wembley on the cards again ? Let's hope it happens.
Brook vs Khan, Quigg vs Frampton are 2 great domestic fights - perhaps the best two there is at the moment.

Re: What's going on at matchroom ???
Boxing fans who subscribe to sky sports have 1 show to look forward to in the first 3 months of the year ??
Re: What's going on at matchroom ???
Normally he would have couple of other shows lined ip by now but the ppv have his main focus im afraid.I expect some more dates will be added for Feb and early March.I think the other guy so far had only 2 showdd lined up sfter Saturday but will also beef up the schedule soon.I will wait s week or two before I go full retard on his schedule.

Bad 24 hours for Matchroom with the Fury argument and Eubank leaving.
The non PPV shows have been diabolical last few months.
Really hope Sky abandon the one promoter tactic and give multiple promoters different dates.
Imagine the competitive cards we'd see without Sky giving Matchroom this bizarre monopoly.

Sure Kell is fighting Bizier before Khan though. I'd read a bit ago it was going to be in Canada as well.
Couple of good fights in January which are in normal sky for a change Ryder v Khomitsky and Martin v Hibbert.

Fighter groves. Funny how when Hearn needs some numbers on a show he brings in groves.
Re: What's going on at matchroom ???
Let us pray that they continue to struggle and maybe Sky will get some sense and open it all up again. Hopefully more fighters will look outside of Matchroom to cause further problems.
Bad business model where you have custom and clients (fighters) as they feel they have no choice as Sky made matchroom the only viable choice.
Fck em, they got the Sky contract which hugely damaged boxing in this country. After 22 years I cancelled Sky Sports this year and do not miss it. Been an utter pile of shite all year

Stacked cards come at a price for normal SKY Sports cards, Mitchell could have been headline one week, Bellew the following week, Campbell the week after etc.
Who can he put on when he puts everyone on the same bill ?

Looks like we will have to look forward to Warrington in Leeds & yafai in Birmingham ! Cant go to Glasgow with burns or Newcastle with Saunders anymore, oh no I can see prizefighter the heavyweights 5 on the horizon!
Re: What's going on at matchroom ???
What we need is Bt sport to commit to some boxing maybe even just a straight ppv model to open up opportunities for big name fighters, and other promoters. At least then eddie and sky aren't the only outlet and Hearn can't claim sky are the "number one platform in the world"
Re: What's going on at matchroom ???
Hearn has s contract for the next 5 years so im afraid the monopoly will continue. It wasn't much better when there was more promotrrs on sky, they never worked together thats the main problem.

Adam Smith faced off against some of the Fury clan on a carpark near Widnes, ripped his shirt off and bellowed at them that he was the best fighting man in this carpark and no man born of his mother could best him in a dirty go.los2 wrote:can anyone tell me what the fury argument was about??????????.........PredatorHayds wrote:Bad 24 hours for Matchroom with the Fury argument

i aint had the internet all week so i dont know what this arguement between fury and hearn was about. in all seriousness can someone tell us what happened tnx
Re: What's going on at matchroom ???
The problem we as boxing fans have is that boxing is a minority sport.
Barry / Matchroom are well in with Sky for Darts, Fishing et.c which do really big numbers, but he is also getting into Table tennis / ping pong (don't laugh, the market for this is massive apparently - in China there are a billion people who play this shit all the time).
In the meantime, Sky don't want to piss Barry of so let little Lord fornicating fontelroy have is play time.

There'd be a big gaping hole if we wasn't involved.

I pulled the trigger and cancled my Sky yesterday and i made of a point of telling them why i.e. Im a big fan of Boxing and we are being bent over, dont know if that will get logged somewhere or not but thought i would let them know.tobyh5 wrote:Let us pray that they continue to struggle and maybe Sky will get some sense and open it all up again. Just for a laugh, my Sky bill with Multiroom , BT Sport, allegedly and a load of repeats of frends all in HD was £143 per month and with a few PPVs thrown in, all in for the year was over £1700!!!
As soon as i sat down and crunched the numbers i had to bin them off. I just paid it every month direct debt and didnt really think to much about it. I bet loads of people are the same, just plodding on with it and not really thinking of the cost and if there getting value for money.
Sorry, a little of topic i know!

Re: What's going on at matchroom ???
Eddie said he helped negotiate the contract with Sky for the PPV and the splits between K2, Fury and Matchroom; Hennessy/Peter Fury said BS...contract emailed from Eddie to Peter Fury to 'prove this', however Peter then said it only related to the Matchroom split of PPV money for the failed Brook v Chaves fight, saying their contract was with Sky and K2 and mentioned nobody else. Hennessy posted a long rant saying Eddie and Barry were talking BS, Barry posted saying they knew the truth and 'goodnight' with no other proof.watsupdoc87 wrote:i aint had the internet all week so i dont know what this arguement between fury and hearn was about. in all seriousness can someone tell us what happened tnx
To summarise; nothing really happened, but I suspect Matchroom are talking BS and are claiming some credit for something they had no involvement in, once the Sheffield show dropped off the PPV deal.

Nice one tanx
Re: What's going on at matchroom ???
How the fvck can you just plod on paying £143 a month ? I really think SKY have shot themselves in the foot by paying way too much for poofball over way too many years and expect all other sports fans to pick up the tab , it really isn't cricket is it ? or is it ?chrisnew86 wrote:I pulled the trigger and cancled my Sky yesterday and i made of a point of telling them why i.e. Im a big fan of Boxing and we are being bent over, dont know if that will get logged somewhere or not but thought i would let them know.tobyh5 wrote:Let us pray that they continue to struggle and maybe Sky will get some sense and open it all up again. I jacked them in 4 years ago once our bill hit the £90 mark, complete joke, £143 though is crazy, you could get a decent car on tick for those payments.rd350lc wrote:How the fvck can you just plod on paying £143 a month ?
