Not even adressing the MW issue.

Id narrow it down to those 12 who are dead certain to beat him imo.and id add a peak shane mosley circa 1999 , napoles and ortiz probably could too.a prime 1997 oscar definetly does if a shot 2007 one took it to the wire

No question, Tito could barely hit floyd.gilgamesh wrote:I find it odd that somebody would pick Felix Trinidad to beat Floyd, but not Terry Norris. Norris would pose a much more difficult style match for Floyd than Tito would.
Les Darcy puts Floyd in a coffin? What slick world class boxer did Darcy ever KO much less put in a coffin. He went 20 rounds twice with Clabby, was stopped once by Jeff Smith and won a DQ in their rematch, was beaten twice by Fritz Holland (who wasn't world class) and went the distance again before finally stopping him. Darcy never saw the day he would stop Mayweather.McGoorty wrote:AND Tommy Ryan, Packey McFarland, Henry Armstrong, ray leonard, BENNY LEONARD, <<<<<< all these guys would beat Floyd easy.... Its a fact do a quick search on here or the other forums and take a look at the threads on this subject. Starling beat breland, brown, honeyghan who are a level of competition at 147 above the blown up shot flyweight at age 37 or the overrated guerreros and shot mosley, berto and judahCounter-puncher wrote:Judah Ben Fur wrote:and marlon starling would have beaten floyd.....

I don't see Arguello getting the job done against Floyd. He could be troubled by fast fighters, and Floyd is about as fast as they come. Not to mention a Defensive wizard. Arguello always would have a chance at getting in the right hand, and turning things around, but I wouldn't count on it.Crease wrote:No-one mentioning Alexis Arguello? I would have given him a good chance st beating Floyd.

I fully recognise floyds greatness, but i also recognise the greatness of the other fighters.....that's perhaps something you are unwilling to do.
Donald Curry was a master boxer.have u heard of him or seen him fight? Jones and mcrory are not his two best wins.....marlon starling was....and marlon starling would have beaten floyd.....every poll or thread on the subject has had a majority in favour of marlon over floyd.
These guys were great boxers in a tough era.hell an old ,shot, drug damaged curry outboxed norris and nunn in spots.....thats how good he was.
Likewise benitez and pryor were exceptional. If benitez could hang tough with hearns and srl he definetly gives the inferior floyd a v hard fight
Lets please not be blatant fanboys for the flavour of month and recognise yes floyd is very very good....great....but his competition has been fortunate.
He fought overhyped contenders like guerrero,ortiz,berto....and past their prime odlh, mosley, judah ,pac in recent years.
He is a,masterpiece, the canelo win reinforced that, but unless he comes back and beats ggg i think he doesnt do so well against curry

So much predjudice on this board. All you have to do is rate maywather and all of a sudden you are a fanboy who has never seen footage of don curry. I spend hours debating the merits of pretty much every major boxer from 1880 onwards read 100s of books watch 100s of fights but say Floyd was better than starling, curry et all and I'm a fanboy lol. Ahh the internet
