Williams is 7/1 just to beat Tyson. I would imagine he's about 10-15/1 to get the KO. Well worth a few quid I think.

I wouldn't go crazy though.

I think I will bet on Williams to win between rounds 8-10, should be pretty fantastic odds on that I would have thought.

A win on Williams by points too to cover me as well.

Don't know why, but I've just got this sneaking suspicion that Williams is gonna take Tyson out very early, maybe in a round or two? Don't know why, just a gut instinct and I dreamt about it the other night. Last time I did that, Takaloo whalloped Farnell in a round!

Yes, Danny's workrate is surprisingly low for a 31-year-old who hasn't been in too many wars. I can see a Muhammad Ali-Richard Dunn type of fight taking place on July 30: Danny landing punches and drawing oohs and aahs from the 20,000 crowd - but Tyson doing the real damage and ultimately prevailing around the fifth.

I think part of the reason his work rate has been so low of late, is the enormous weight he comes in at, I mean 19 stone for a 6' 3 heavyweight is rather too much.

If he can come in around 245 nice and trim, I'm sure he can improve his work rate.[/quote]

Strangely though, Danny has always had excellent handspeed no matter what size he is at, but he throws an impressive burst of punches, and then follows it up with long periods doing nothing. Lacking the footspeed to be elusive, it is imperative he keeps Tyson off balance early on with the jab, and follows up with power shots to deter him.

If he stands and poses the way he did against Sprott, he will be wearing his bollocks for ear muffs.

fair comment, Its interesting to see a lot of people fancying williams for the job all of a sudden (not having a go just an observation) wonder if it will be the same come June 30th.

I can fairly claim to be one of those who gave Williams a fair chance from the beginning.

How can you not give any half decent fighter a chance against Tyson, he's old, small and slow and has poor stamina, whilst I wouldn't say I would make Williams favourite, I still fancy a flutter on the outcome.

To be honest i think if anyone is thinking of putting cash on Danny to cause an upset then they would be aswell giving their hard earned ££ away.

I can see why people may fancy the upset due to Tysons age, inactivity, lack of desire etc but even the fat Tyson that showed up against Lewis would smash up Williams within 9 minutes.

Are people forgetting the (long) list of sleepathons that Danny has been involved in ie Francis, Sprott etc not to mention the fact that under pressure he folds like oragami. If a plodder like Sinal Sam can do a number on him then surely, even a washed up Tyson can do the same.

On a side note it says a lot about the quality of the division that there is a real possibilty of Mad Mike holding a belt again by 2005.

Isn't Maskaev the very same fighter Williams was supposed to have totally embarrased in sparring a few years back?

I think team Tyson have made a mistake with this one, ...I can see Williams pulling off a big 'upset'......go Danny! 8)

I was there when Williams sparred Maskaev the first time. (I was boxing in a white-collar show at Gleasons the same week) and there were times when Oleg was getting the better of Danny. But Danny did bash him up as well, so I'm very surprised to see that Danny's getting manhandled, considering that Maskaev's form hasn't been great over the last couple of years. SecondsOut.Com say that Danny's been knocking his sparring partners out!
