Is GGG mandatory or interim? It's so hard to remember with these ridiculous belts flying around. I guess it depends how much he wants the fight. He'd be foolish to take less than 30% and go under 160 unless he wants the deal wrapped up sooner than later. As mando he's entitled to 30% if it goes to purse bids.
He is interim and is entitled to 45/55 split. But they know Canelo will never agree to that, so GGG is willing to get less.
He won't get anywhere near that kinda split. 70/30 in Canelo's favor is the best GGG can hope for.
I agree. With Canelo selling 4x ppvs compared to Golovkin, DLH will be pushing for 80/20 split, so getting 75/25 or 70/30 would be Loefler's success.

Reading between the lines it seems to me that Canelo is pushing for catchweight and threatens to vacate otherwise.
"We are in talks, that's the only thing that I can say, so let's see if we reach an agreement. We agreed not to disclose the details until then. It's a big fight, it is obvious that there is a a lot of interest and attention, but the reality is that we have our plans as a team and we have to do what is best for the career of Saul, and if we can reach an agreement, which is what we're talking about, that's even better."

They clearly said to the whole world that 160 is not a problem, so they will look really bad if they back up.
I think, it is all about money, venue, judges, etc. now, not the weight.

"The truth is there won't be a purse bid. This is going to get done [before that]. We'll come to an agreement and we will see what we're going to do, but there won't be a purse bid. We are trying to make the fight. This is what we're discussing right now and we'll see what happens, Gomez told ESPN Deportes."

There wont be a purse bid because Canelo will vacate if the deal is not reached, that is one sure thing.
I wish they put it on Dallas Cowboys stadium. Its high time they start make stadium fights in US like they do in Europe. Hate those casino fights.
