Of course sky can put it on normal sports but choose to fleece us fans just like they do with the wwe fans just like they do with f1 fans. If i had the will power "id drop sky like a bad habit" (in the voice of clubber lang)

I don't agree with any fights being PPV just like I don't agree with any football games being PPV. In the long term interests of the sport the big events should be available to as many people as possible to watch.

However, I would sacrifice my beliefs and pay for GGG vs Eubank because I'd want to watch it there and then in good quality tv. Joshua vs Breazale was a piss take so I never paid for it.

Same here - I don't see any value in paying PPV just so Joshua and Hearn can make some coin defending the title against a total patsy.

However, if it's the only way that Eubank Jr can get the fight with GGG, then game on.

This bout would definitely be ppv and I'd buy it to watch Eubank Jnr get smashed all about the place

The best boxing venues are smaller than the 02, the MEN arena, or the MGM grand garden arena are good examples.

Once you get over that size then the action becomes too remote. I'd say 25000 capacity is about the limit. The 02 is too vast, even though it roughly same capacity as MEN.

I do think boxing needs purpose built arenas, as concert halls and stadia are too big for a sport where you can't really see the action clearly from far away.

The (formerly) MEN Arena has a higher capacity than the O2 Arena. The O2 Arena holds 20'000 maximum.
If you want to clearly see the action then anything other than ringside at most larger venues is not good enough, though large screens help that as its the atmosphere that you really gain by watching live. For the best view of the fights TV is the way to go.

Maybe it does maybe it doesn't, no one knows really.

But allegedly is a monthly cost purely for boxing.
Sky is a monthly cost for just about every sport going these days.

I'm not sticking up for them, but they have far bigger fish to fry than boxing, the fact they have lost so much football and rugby will worry the pants off them. They have lots of competitors for all sports not just boxing.

So if sky's budget for boxing is 50m that is to ensure they beat the likes of allegedly for domestic cards and the odd international ones.

allegedly may have a smaller budget but only has to worry about international fights as the domestic cards it has are from frank anyway, sky will have to pay match room as they are external.

They don't fleece anyone for WWE, its all PPV in the states, they are just keeping in line with that, possibly a rights issue to ensue they keep showing WWE.

My point about F1 is they were on bbc then C4 and then sky buy the rights to it so the F1 fan has to subscribe,WWE used to be free about 20 odd years ago then since late 90's every main event is ppv. Not that im a fan of either just pointin out that sky fleeces all of us sports fans but wwe and boxing fans get hit with ppv charges on top of the high bill because of their stupidly high bid for the prem rights

The MEN has a higher capacity, but it's a much smaller venue physically than the 02. The 02's tiering is different.
