Hell if anything Frampton was a slight underdog against Santa Cruz. It seemed to be at least 2 to 1 against him in picks I saw from fans going into the fight.manchester-mexican wrote:LSC n Quigg both 50/50 at the time they made, fought both away from home, both unbeaten, Carl must be in the mix
Well both say they want it, so hopefully it happensgilgamesh wrote:Hell if anything Frampton was a slight underdog against Santa Cruz. He and Quigg were basically 50/50 though yes.
Frampton seems to rise to the level of his competition I notice. He got knocked down in a few fights in a row when he was fighting uninspiring opposition, but then he fights the likes of Santa Cruz and Quigg, and fights a marvelous fight and makes few mistakes. He's definitely a fighter that benefits from fighting top competition. I'd think a fight between him and Lee Selby would go over pretty well in the U.K. that'd be fun to see, and if they could get it signed by the end of the year it would be an awesome cap to Frampton's year
I'll add that if Kovalev beats Ward I think he'd get plenty of votes. Frampton has done very well, but LSC and Quigg aren't P4P elite like Ward and Pac. Thurman would also be in the mix he if added a win over Garcia, and I imagine that Brook upsetting GGG would earn him ample support.brian13 wrote:The next fight for both Crawford and Frampton will decide it but Frampton so far is definitely in consideration. If somehow Crawford gets a shot at Pacquiao and wins, Crawford will win it.
Some good contenders there but if Brook done the impossible and managed to beat GGG you'd have to give him it just for that win alone.crusader wrote:If Kovalev beats Ward I think he'd have a strong case over Frampton, unless Carl beats someone like Selby or Russell. I think Crawford is well behind. The Postol win is about equal to the Quigg win for Frampton, but then his other this year was a gimme over Hank Lundy. Unless he gets a hell of a 3rd win before the year ends he's not even in the conversation this year IMO.PredatorHayds wrote:Frampton so far.
Crawford not far behind, Gonzales goes close if he beats Cuadras.
Also Krusher and Ward winner goes up there.
I'd also have Shane trainer of the year so far.
Sorry I was talking about Crawford in the context of a Pac win on his record (I favour Pacman though to be honest).gilgamesh wrote:I think Crawford is well behind. The Krusher vs Ward winner definitely raises their profile big, and could potentially become the frontrunner for Fighter of the Year especially if they win impressively.
Oh yeah now if Crawford beat Pac before the year was out that'd be a whole different story.PredatorHayds wrote:Sorry I was talking about Crawford in the context of a Pac win on his record (I favour Pacman though to be honest).gilgamesh wrote:I think Crawford is well behind.
