Wevebeen able to discuss the matches that Warren has made, or has not made.

Williams will fall apart on the night for sure. Once he's faced with Tyson across the ring he'll revert to type despite all his talk prefight.

This time of year it's just stupid. I may try and get out for the Hopkins v DLh annihilation.
What about Tito- Mayorga. bennie and I are thinking about it.

Anyone else up for it?

Tyson 'looked' good hitting a suspended tennis ball before Lewis too.

Didn't mean shit when the bell rang for the second round.

Williams aint Lewis.

And Tyson was sedated for that fight and weighed almost 240.

He was way out of shape.

Look at the size of the sparring parners foul proof cup.

Williams will need one of those.

Tyson will break his ribs.

True KO.

But Tyson had fought more than 49 seconds in the preceding two years and was 35 not 38.

I see nothing to suggest Tyson can or has IMPROVED. And whilst I agree Williams isn't Lewis, he's as capable, if not significantly better a boxer as Botha and he hits harder than fighters like Nielson, Francis, Savarese and Etienne.

Williams has everything needed to win this fight.

He just needs to believe it and survive the first six minutes.

I always like this argument

before the Lewis fight, everyone said how ripped he was and what great shape he was in , but it was meaningless then and meaningless now. it is show muscle.

You can polish up any old banger so it gleams, but what's under the hood may still be rusted old junk

I don't think williams will win, but Tyson's days of hitting anything that may hit back are long gone

It is perfectly possible that when Tyson enters the ring, he just won't be able to put it all together, however, I think Williams will freeze, and allow him to to gradually get it together.

If he doesn't Tyson of course always has the great leveller, but he has 1 round of competitive boxing since 2002.

Thanks Slapsie.

Ali was down to his lowest weight for years versus Larry Holmes.

Didn't mean he'd turned the clock back, it just meant he wanted to look good for the fight.

The truth was he was being deluded and deluding himself. I would say only the fact Tyson is a puncher makes him ANY less shot than Holmes was when he fought IN THE 90'S.

He'll always look good aesthetically. But the gym reports I've read suggest he's anything but back to his best. His best can never be reclaimed.

The BEST he can do now, is carefully select opponents with poor movement, who are glad to be there and are chinny.

Please DANNY - survive the first six minutes and then bust up the carcass once and for all.

Are you sure he's not "sedated" for this one too Knockout? I think he's still on Prozac, or whatever he takes these days. Might explain why he's being so friendly with the press and everyone else lately.

Of course he'll still be trying to send Danny's head into the 10th row seats for the first couple of rounds, but he's very likely to slow down from round 3 onwards...........Willliams' only hope of course.

EVEN if Williams survives the early onslaught and thats a very big even in my book, he doesnt have the workrate to outwork tyson and as Hoylfield, Lewis and Douglas showed it takes a lot of punishment to stop him his chin is sound. My bet is Tyson can still outwork him easily enough.

Has anyone here travelled with Benz Travel? I have booked to go to Las Vegas with them for DLH-Hopkins, they are always quick enough on the phone when there is something to be paid for but in regards to receipts/info/sending stuff out it is hard to correspond with them. I know they are Boxing regulars and also do the football....any feedback? :o
I'm hoping to go to that one, Steve, so may be making the trip with you. A guy called Mike deals with the boxing for Benz Travel and he floats in and out of the office. He's hard to pin down.
His mobile is 07708 344206.

I'll be at DLH-Hopkins too. I nearly booked tickets for Trinidad-Mayorga, had a cracking pair of ringside seats on hold, and what's more, they were only slightly more expensive than the ones I got for DLH-Hop. I didn't buy them because I just don't trust Mayorga. He looked a bit portly at a press conference yesterday:

And I'd hate to pay the money to get there, then it all goes balls-up because of that tosser.

About DW - Tyson: has all the makings of a Tyson KO1. I'm gonna go with Tyson KO4, though. Also, I wonder if it will be some slack-jawed yokel of a ref. Jim McDonnell should be wary of this, as there's a good chance it won't get stopped as soon as it would if the fight were in the UK.

If Tyson does lose, we might as well shut down the Heavyweight division, because to the general sports fan, it wont be worth a wank.

Well, seeing as Tyson hasn't done fornicate all for the last 4 years except fight bums and get beaten up, I think the division can survive. It's going to be a long time before we get another proper champion, but one always comes along. People forget that there are most often long gaps between great heavyweight champions.

Look at the gap between Dempsey and the next great heavyweight champ. Or between Larry Holmes and Tyson, those wilderness years when Berbick et al held belts. It's the same now, and we just have to grin and bear it.

Apart from Plan B - bite off opponents ear and get disqualified.

But Williams SHOULD win this fight. Not could. SHOULD.

He has all the tools to beat the remains of the Tyson myth. Sure Tyson can punch but only one at a time, he doesn't move well, he doesn't throw combinations, he has questionable stamina, self-belief and will.

He has faded hand-speed and he has no plan B.

All Williams has to do is get to the 3-4th round and to me he's favourite.

The horror on Roach and Tyson's face if Williams make it to the end of the third will be palpable.

For all the PR, Tyson has trained when he feels like it by Roach's own admission, is 38, has fought 49 seconds in over two years and is frankly SCH-ER-OT to pieces.

He's motivated only by money, has had back problems during the fight and focus problems as far as two weeks away from fight night.

IF WILLIAMS doesn't realise he has a chance to propel himself into the top ten with this fight and possibly a WBA shot he wants shooting.

Williams has every tool he needs to win, I just hope he realises it.
Williams has never showed the form on the big stage to beat Tyson - he SHOULD but WON'T

TT,

Fair point and crucially I'm not PREDICTING a Williams victory. But he'll have nobody to blame but himself because Tyson is so ripe for the plucking its untrue.

Its a paradox because if Williams folds up after a minute - it will still mean shit in terms of Tyson potency as a contender.

Tyson even in victory, is still SHOT TO SHIT for me.
