Just heard Clark is fighting ward next for the British. If this is true it's a disgrace. Nothing against Ronnie but cacace deserves the shot as he ko'd Ronnie in an eliminator. You have to think ward/hearn gave Ronnie the fight due to being the easier opponent. You have to feel for anto who apparently was willing to accept the fight even at late notice. Somehow maxi hughes has now been made mandatory meaning anto may never get his shot

The best man will win and I see that being Ward styles makes fight and Ronnie is perfect for Ward to look Good.

Wrong mate. anto fought Ronnie for Celtic title. Wasn't an eliminator at all. After that fight Ronnie and maxi have both won eliminators which in your logic makes it right then?

It's a voluntary defence and Clark has a solid record. The reason cacace isn't mandatory is maxi won a eliminator and was put in a final eliminator against townend which didn't happen as townend boxed ward. Cacace was then put in a final eliminator against jupp who withdrew. The boards mistake. With maxi having won a eliminator he got the nod.

I am sure Ward breathed a sigh of relief when he found out he doesn't have to box Cacace.

Totally agree, I don't believe anyone wants anything to do with cacace. But I also believe he will not make the weight so it's irrelevant

And the logic is anto would not make superfeather on tht notice and also would be considered to dangerous for. Volontary. I agree he deserves a shot and when Ronnie wins trust me he will get it.

Ward is ducking Cacace for sure, but it's not Ronnies fault in the slightest.
In regards to the poster claiming it was a "disgrace" that Clarke was giving the opportunity, I do not understand how you come to that conclusion.
Yes Cacace stopped Clarke but it was a competitive fight and I would much rather see Ward in with a fit Clarke who boxrd on saturday rather than a Bowen on four weeks notice or Maxi Hughes for the third time.
I don't know if Ronnie punches as hard as Townend (probably not) but I believe he's a better boxer and is stronger with a better engine.
Whilst I think Ward will win the fight I still think it's intriguing.

Absolutely great news, I spoke to Ronnie earlier, I'll be there with him to show my support. Ronnie is very very fit, physically strong, mentally strong and a very capable boxer, he also punches with fair enough power. I fancy ronnie to actually pull this off, I think most of the fights he has lost (inc Troy fight) he could of won if he had full proper camp with sparring, game plan etc, I told him that on the night and many times since, if he gets a good game plan in place for this fight it is well with in his grasp to win, he must also fight with his head and not his heart, he can't allow Ward to Fuk about early on and get into a rhythm, first 4-5 rounds are crucial, if Ronnie can make them nip and tuck and take something out of ward and his legs then Ronnie could even stop him later on has wards best rounds are always his early ones then he mentally shuts off and can fall apart a bit, I don't think he's got a 12 round gruelling fight in him like Ronnie has. Good luck the shark, finally got your chance mate.

Very wise words Dean and a lot of honesty there not much of that in boxing. I see it pretty much the same as you. This is a 50/50 fight between 2 very good fighters. Ronnie has made Dundee proud he will be the first Dundonian to fight for a British Title and the first to win one.. We will bring the noise. And the New

daviddee wrote:Carl has been very disrespectful saying that Ronnie is scared to fight Sam. He also challenged Maxi Hughes. Ronnie was not handed straight eliminators or fights just because he asked on Twitter. Carl could of gone about it the right way and I'm sure if they are willing to come to Scotland this fight can maybe be made in the future. Sam firstly has to make weight. His lightest so far is 3lb over the Super Feather limit. He should maybe fight for a area title first.. You have Zelfa Barrett in a similar position and Andy Townend who is English Champion. No offence but Ronnie is looking to be in bigger title contention.
Great post. Well said Davie.
Greaves think's he's boxing royalty, when in reality.......

Shocked that the kid townend stopped in a couple has been passed to fight Bowen on the back of that defeat.

Yeah the boy conwell. The problem is they have a budget but they wanna claim everyone is ducking the boy. The money has to be right as quite frankly he doesn't offer anything as of yet. Ronnie never did receive an official offer as far as we know .
