Don't write off Bellew. He has good boxing skills. Him vs Parker would be a great fight.

Bellew is not even the best at beating one legged fighters.
King Charles won a heavyweight championshiop when beating his crippled opponent.

Stiverne was TBRB #3 when Wilder beat him.
Haye was unranked when Bellew beat him.
Your thread title is a lie.
Actually, lots of good posters were ranking Haye. Hell, on talent alone, some people were having Haye as a top 5 in the division. TBRB is not the end-all-be-all of boxing ratings. Your response is a lie.

"Good posters" < the world's leading boxing experts.
If somebody considers the Haye win a bigger accomplishment than shutting out the WBC heavyweight champion of the world, they are not a "good poster." They are an idiot.

The world's leading boxing experts have had some utterly horrible rankings. Anyone citing those without much context is a fool.
What has Stiverne done after getting shut out by Wilder or even before then? His best win is still Arreola. Anyone thinking that win has aged any better than Bellew's win over Haye is not right in the head.

What has Haye done since losing to Bellew? Nothing. You have to be consistent with your logic.
And if we're looking at what fighters did after losing, Duhaupas got himself a big win and a lengthy run in the TBRB top 10 shortly after losing to Wilder. There is no doubt Wilder's resume at heavyweight is superior to Bellew. To suggest otherwise is silly fanboy stuff.

Wilder's resume is full of cherries. Y'all may laugh but even Golovkin succeeded to fight 2 solid champions in Lemieux and Jacobs during his career but Wilder's resume is full of handpicked-low-level opponents.
Here's a list with solid challengers that Wilder could've fought instead of Molina, Duhaupas, Spilka, Arreola and Washington:
POVETKIN
Ortiz
Pulev
Jennings
Haye

The title should be "sad thing is" instead of "funny thing is"

As I said, on talent alone and past resume Haye is arguably a better fighter than Stiverne. I am being consistent. Stiverne had done absolutely nothing outside of beating Arreola. Duhaupus did get a big win, but then you also have to contend with what Bellew did at cruiserweight. Seems you're forgetting that Bellew did have a respectable resume at cruiserweight with wins over Flores, Masternak, and Makabu.

I'm all for mocking Wilder's resume, and a legitimate win over a prime, healthy Haye is definitely better than Wilder's whole resume. But Bellew's win over Haye was tainted by injuries unrelated to the fight. Chris Byrd's win over Vitali due to random shoulder injury isn't the same as beating Vitali straight-up. Charles Martin's win over Glazkov due to freak knee injury was not the same as legitimately beating Glazkov. Cotto's win over a Martinez with injured shoulder and injured knee was not the same as beating a healthy Martinez. It's important not to confuse a tainted win with a legitimate win.

Who cares about Haye's snapped tendon. Bottom line is cw Bellew has a better win on his resume than Wilder.
