What do we think of the other signings ?

Schaefer also says they are signing a Nigerian Heavy as well.

Micheal Page is an interesting signing.
When I was a wee boy I'd see him at events, he was even younger competing in martial arts and kickboxing tournaments.
Recently he has been building a following as a showboating MMA competitor.
I assume the money can't have been that good.

I'm Not against fights being shown on Dave, boxing on freeview should be a good thing, but the production last time was an absolute joke, so if they want to sell boxing to the public as a product, it needs to be much better

They've signed Willie Hutchinson who used to box for Shotts Springhill. He won Gold at Youth WC's. Very slick fighter. Hope he stays dedicated.

I have no real objection with boxing being on Dave. The more boxing on freeview, the better.

Saying that, I can't see it ever being useful as anything more than young boxers making a name for themselves, before signing for a more mainstream promoter for bigger fights.

Unfortunately, knowing Haye's flair for self publicising, we won't get that. We'll probably see him in the main event vs some bin men at the 02, with all his other signings on the undercard.

The first 2 fight nights on Dave were a joke but im willing to give it a second chance

I do wonder though... If its 5 nights a year, how do they sell them without Haye fighting ? Im sure Haye vs Briggs would still get great numbers in the UK on free TV... But the likes of Joyce, Ashfaq, Yoka etc trying to build their record? not so much.

I assumed he'd fled to boxing having realised he wasn't far from getting wrestle-fucked to death when they finally put him in with someone who has half a clue in that area

Start with a good presenter, pundit and commentary team. Ed off Sky would do a good job.

The amount Briggs wants, the fight would need to be on PPV.. i don't think Haye will fight him on Dave either after the drugs fail.

Why should he care about Dick McTaggart? He's self promoting, which seems to be a large part of boxing in this era of the game. I think he will go far, much farther than Dick would as a pro. Btw, when I was a young amateur in Scotland, McTaggart was spoken of as a right knob end. Never met him myself.

You're right they're going to need something decent as a headliner. You can get away with Hayes comeback as one, but these youngsters/novices are going to need the regular outings hence presumably the 5 fights a year stuff. Perhaps Ringstar will try and win purse bids for British titles etc? Then they've pretty much got a ready made undercard with these 3 progressing through their career. I'm assuming they'll sign a couple more or have verbal agreements with a few of the boxers who are not tied in to TV deals to have the odd fight on their channel.

I suppose the lad can do and say what he wants to promote himself. It's just a bit disrespectful and ignorant to claim to be the best ever Scottish amateur ahead of Mctaggart. But if that's how he wants to go about promoting himself then crack on. Is Dick really a nob? I heard good things about Dick Mctaggart. He came across well in his documentary and looks an absolute master on his fight footage.

Anyway how do you come to the conclusion this 18/19 year old prospect would go much further than Dick would have as a pro ?
