Okay in reality he got it because it was a Hearn show. But it's odd to hype someone for being nearly as good as a faded (and some say shot) Chisora.

I considered Chisora to be about #11 going into the fight. Chisora only lost to Pulev by SD, and Pulev is roughly #6-8, so that supports the theory that Chisora is about #11. Chisora stopped Malik Scott, who is ranked #14 on boxrec (but is probably realistically closer to #19 or 20), and who beat Tony Thompson and went the distance with Luis Ortiz; so that supports the theory that Chisora is about #11. Chisora also has wins over Ondrej Pala, Edmund Gerber, and Kevin Johnson; further supporting the fact that Chisora's best wins weren't horrific flukes.

Whyte proved to be slightly better than Chisora. That makes Whyte approximately #10 and Chisora approximately #12. Plus Whyte gave Joshua a hard time, absorbing his punches pretty well and landing many blows to the body. That offers slightly more evidence that Whyte is probably inside the top 15, but outside the top 5.

I don't know exactly how many heavyweights you rank above Whyte, but I'm going to assume that it's 15+, so there's a good chance that several of them have weaker resumes than Whyte and Chisora do.

I'm not sure you get what Hype is.

An ok resume and a known quantity is not something to get hyped about.

He shown he is about on par (I and most others fought he was a bit worse) than a faded (in many people's opinions shot) Chisora.

Pulev outclassed Chisora and deserved about 10 rounds. I recall Horse being slated during the RBR for having it unreasonably close, and he still ended up with Pulev winning by 3 or 4! The card for Chis is among the worst I've seen, so the result being a SD shouldn't add to his worth.

I had Chisora beating Whyte in a very close one, and he was certainly the guy who did the most damage in that fight; Whyte even looked on the verge of being stopped in one of the rounds. Given what I saw, I'd have to say that they're about as good as each other, though I did think that Chis had an edge.
