19% on Shane Mosley's poll on twitter give it to Canelo (vs 67% to GGG).

GGG got ripped off ... but how big ?

Post by Evander »

GGG ripped off ?

No doubt in my mind GGG beat Canelo.
Best case for GGG ... he won by 8.
Worst case ... He won by 4.
Rematch not needed.

GGG had his jab in Canelo's face all night.
Serious rallies by Canelo ... 1 maybe 2 borderline 3 if you're desperate but none of them swayed the fight.
Canelo was puffing by the mid rounds, brave fighter but he seemed to be relying on that rally that never happened,he just couldn't muster it up.
GGG took the fight to Canelo, how many times did you look at it and see GGG on the back foot ?
Even in the 11th and 12th GGG had the points in the bag and still went at Canelo when many fighters would go safety.

GGG is the Number 2 Boxer in the world today.

Yep, and his grip on the #1 spot remains loose.

Yep. I am not quick to claim a robbery. This was very similar but not as egregious as Sweet Pea v JCC.

This was a clean GGG win on all levels no question about it.

He's another ripoff artist. He's not among the most skilled boxers.

I don't think he won but I'm "relatively" happy with the result because this is boxing. It was a close fight because a) canelo ran, not the full fight but it's undeniable and b) Golovina age. I'll need to watch it again though. Canelo was very arrogant in the post fight speech,I didn't like that.

This was nowhere near as close as SOGgy v Krushedner I. :shame:
Ward CLEARLY lost that fight! he is a cheating piece of shit as well!

I think both Kovalev vs Ward fights were better , GGG got screwed on the cards but will get rewarded in the pocket book GGG vs Canelo was a good not great fight, I will not pay to watch them fight again. I would watch them fight again for free. Canelo didn't have the stamina or punching power to hurt GGG in this last fight.

Don't think it was an easy one. Golovkon did win but not easily. Need to give some credit to canelo for what looked and sounded like the crisper punches although they were few far between. What saved Canelo, well he ran, he survived. Not sure the Mexicans will be happy with that. Got a fair few boos. Ducking him for 2 years, running and not outclassing him, that hurt Canelos rep in my opinion.

Canelo showed courage, and was competitive fight for about the first 7 rounds..So he really has nothing to be ashamed of in my book.

He did but boxing fans are harsh as you know, you've met some of the characters on this forum. Both courageous fighters no doubt please don't misunderstand that. But Golovkin fought the hardest, Canelo hit him at one stage with a flush strong combo and Golovkon came on, fired him up, Canelo on the other hand didn't have that same fire although of course is no coward.

Gap will close depending on who they fight from here but GGG has made his mark and established his status.
