Who wins? I don't know. It should be a good one.

Parker-Browne would certainly be a big fight 'down under' but I cannot see it attracting much attention elsewhere. Sky TV would probably show it though, particularly if there is the possibility of a future Joshua-Parker matchup.
If it happens I'd pick Parker to win by KO/TKO.

A fight with national pride behind it, one former world champion aiming for the big names in the division and a young champion looking to make a name for himself. Has everything interesting behind the fight so I'd watch it.
As for comparing the two on paper, Parker to win by decision or stoppage in the later rounds. Could probably talk the WBA into adding their 'regular' world championship belt to the fight since Browne was the last man to hold the belt, even if it was just to secure a unification bout with Joshua afterwards.

If this fight happens Browne will make Parker look very good.
I hope they get a ref that is quick to pull the plug on one-sided beatdowns.
By the 4th round Parker will be taking target practice and it will continue until the ref or corner saves Browne from further punishment.

They say the last thing you lose is your punching power and Browne knocked out Chagaev late didn't he? I 'd favour Parker but Browne can really punch which is what keeps it interesting.

Big difference between stopping a fat, old boxer on his way out of the game and stopping a young, hungry fighter.
Browne scored a late KO on a long past his best Chagaev who showed up with a bowling ball physique. Chagaev clearly did not train hard for the fight yet was still winning wide when he gassed late.
Parker may not show up with a chiseled physique but he'll be far better prepared than Chagaev, has enough discipline not to wear himself out going for a KO, is in his physical prime and is a far better technical boxer than Browne.

It's a stupid fight... I don't like it and I don't think many fans will like it... Browne isn't ready for prime time and never will be.
Let's get the Joshua vs Parker fight going... WTF is the hold up??? ... Get it negotiated and get it signed... Burn up the phone lines til it's done.

According to Higgings today, he's given up on negotiations for time being.

The problem is, we get a Joshua-Klitschko caliber fight every 5 years in Heavyweight boxing ... other sports match athletes tough.
Most fights, your dog Fido could pick the winner.. "Ali will fight Alfredo Evangelista" ... or "Joe Frazier's next opponent is Terry Daniels" ... or "Lewis will be facing Phil Jackson" or "Wladimir Klitschko will meet American Ray Austin from Cleveland" ... or "Anthony Joshua will be fight Texan Eric Molina" ... or "The Wilder-Stiverne clash is a rematch of their 2015 fight.." ... no fuking shiit.. so exciting and interesting.

I think it's official....
Lucas Browne will fight Joseph Parker..
Can't see Browne winning although he does have a Punchers Chance as Parker was rocked by Taken a few times...
Parker Should win inside 7 rounds..

Joseph Parker-Lucas Browne in Play For August in New Zealand
Former WBO heavyweight champion champion Joseph Parker is being position to return to the ring in the month of August in New Zealand, before an exclusive live crowd.
The event is slated to help the launch of DAZN's streaming service in New Zealand.
Parker's manager, Davis Higgins, is working out the details with the boxer's promoter, Eddie Hearn of Matchroom.
At the moment, the most likely opponent is former WBA champion Lucas Browne.
Browne was scheduled to fight back in March, against Apti Davtaev, as part of a Showtime televised card in Las Vegas. The entire event was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Parker was in action back in February, when he traveled to Texas and easily stopped Shawndell Winters in five rounds.
Higgins was hoping to get Parker's rival, undefeated Junior Fa, but he claims Fa's asking price for the contest was "unrealistic."
"Lucas Browne is a much bigger name than Junior Fa," Higgins told Newshub.
"He's been in a sold-out O2 arena in London, has a profile in the UK and he's only had a couple of losses to very good opponents."
If a deal is not reached with Browne, Newshub reveals that another option is undefeated Dempsey McKeen, an awkward southpaw from Queensland.
Right now, the local government has a restriction on gatherings, limiting them to no more than 100 people, but Higgins is adamant the event will only go ahead if they can guarantee safety as well as financial viability.

TBH, this fight was in serious talks in 2017.. If it was gonna happen, it should have happened then..
Browne has been brutally knocked out by Whyte and crumbled against Dave Allen, with a smile on his face.
Fa is asking for daft money, and who knows Down Under, this fight might still be decent for fans.

Would made more sense back then.
Now, well... Parker is gonna get a warm up, Browne has always been on the fringes. Still their is money that can get made on it down under so. Meh, don't care.
Parker before 3.

Parker vs brown in august would be nice. Brown is shot, but is a name, and considering the situation id like to see it rather than see parker wait till december for a better opponent. Why wait when he can go august and DEC.. he needs to bury those losses anyway.

Only the kind of fans who might also enjoy watching an old lady get mugged.
You gotta love Higgins ... "Lucas Browne is a far bigger name than Junior Fa" Of course the unspoken continuation of the sentence goes ... " and only half the risk - win win ! ".
Joe seems to have made the belated discovery that opponents who have a pulse can make your fight an uncomfortable experience and are best avoided.

McKean and Fa should fight each other on the undercard to prove they deserve a shot at Parker once he beats Browne.

Great fight for the Aus/NZ scene, but I cant see this exciting many people outside of those 2 countries.
Parker by UD
Parker could probably stop him if he's more aggressive.

Good idea
Always a good idea to have a potential future opponent on your undercard to get the matchup in people's minds.

Browne had better be able to retire after this, because he's shot to bits and has taken a lot of damage lately.

I mean I doubt he's made enough to live the rest of his life on. He's just gonna have to figure out some other kinda way to make money for the rest of his life.
Lots of guys encounter this I'm sure.
Some Athletes don't make, I'll never have to work for the rest of my life money, and frankly were never good enough to deserve that kinda money.
Browne is one of them.

That would be a great match-up but I'm not sure it would generate the kind of money that would interest them in taking a risky fight (yeah I know but boxing is a business and that's the depressing reality).
McKean seems more of a risk taker, he called out Browne* and Johnny Rice is no pushover for anyone below contender level. Fa was willing to take on Parker again but only for an absurd amount of money that he's done nothing to justify. Maybe he might see beating the Australian Champion as a way to raise his profile and provoke interest in a Parker fight.
*
I'm not sure if that's evidence for or against his being a risk taker on reflection.

Yes, or maybe Higgins now accepts that Joseph Parker can't just cut through the heavyweight division in the way he once believed he could.
Joseph Parker is good, but not that (Dempsey, Louis, Liston, Tyson) good.
For such a strong guy he seems to just lack a little dynamite in his fists. Unlucky to lose against a now increasingly suspicious Whyte.
So why not play it smart? That's the name of the game today. The fans money, not their opinion, is what's in demand.
Anthony Joshua and Joseph Parker have the best resumes in the division. If AJ could fight Fury or Wilder, he'd have fought everyone of note. Same goes for Parker.
