They both sold out the ExCel. Let's not forget Fury vs. Chisora II took place on this card too.
The arena was empty for the fury fight
That was a great card, got allegedly sub for it. In fairness the Fury fight was on silly late and I expect more than a few people figured on getting last tube home?

I hate when fighters do this. Sets alarm bells ringing that their hearts not in it. Looking forward to seeing BJS again.

One of the worst promoted cards in recent memory. Fury and Chisora were in the ring after midnight and the place was evidently crawling with dickhead Saunders/Fury fans and no security.

Stories about cards like that are exactly why Saunders fights abroad and in leisure centres. Just not the sort of environment that attracts anyone to buy a ticket.

I feel that a large part of any inability to shift a huge number of tickets is down to the promoter and their failings which are well known re: ticket sales.

You only retire out of choice when you've fallen out of love with the sport, to these fellas it's what they've been doing since they were kids, it's the only life they've known which is why guys like Hopkins, Holyfield, Jones Jr were still fighting as middle aged men.

I think this is maybe just something fighters say to get articles written about them, and to maybe make people more excited for what could be one of their last fights.
