Some good info there - but I don't get why so many people here (mostly on Off Topic) feel the need to shoe-in some political comment about Trump and/or Brexit, it's boring.

While I agree with you, mate, I think in this case he was referring to trump calling Mexicans "rapists" so they may have tainted some peoples point of view.

This news is shocking, and if found guilty, the damage to Gonzalez' legacy will be catastrophic. Them games made him a hero in LA, he's still popular three today but these accusations, whether true or false, will cut deeply.

I support no head of state, political party or president. They’re wrong uns. But that whole Trump thing about Mexican criminals is not about all Mexicans being criminals, it’s about the police force and officials deliberately sending criminals over the border to get rid of them.

Shannon got clattered by the monstrous Sung-Kil Moon who had previously battered John Hyland in the Games. Moon was eventually eliminated on cuts but came back to win the worlds in 1986 in Reno. As for Gonzales, he got a break in the Olympics when another Korean really rocked him but as the Korean was following up his headguard came off and the action was halted. Gonzales came back brilliantly to win on points.

He's a barber in Seattle now. He done his barbering qualifications when he was on the U.S. Team, and cut the American team's hair in 84. Charged 3 dollars for a buzz cut and 5 for a style.

He told Holyfield that he was going bald and Evander was furious at the comment.
