So long as your in good and competitive fights you will always make money, especially if your beatable. Ortiz, Khan, Bronzer and Mayweather were all fun fights, I'm sure there's a fair few more as well.

Good for him. Seems to be happy, in good health, and living within his means (a bottle of malt and a few cigars won't break the bank). He's done well for himself, especially considering his fairly limited skill.

Still only 34, Maidana could step back into the sport any moment he chooses, although that seems highly unlikely as 'Chino' enjoys the fruits of his labour with his feet firmly up and cigar in hand.

Obviously enjoying his food and drink, Maidana's gameplan to get out with all his faculties and with a bank full of cash has paid dividends for the solid puncher, who won 35 of his 40 bouts in the ring during a ten-year career.

Always loved the guy, even more now I know he likes Scotch and cigars, he's like me only a tiny bit harder, glad he's enjoying life.

The Khan fight was incredible and one of the key fights that turned me into a hardcore Maidana nuthugger. I can't think of another fighter who would have gotten up from a body shot like he took. Then almost closing the show late. A spectacular showing in defeat.

He was a terrific fighter. He hit Mayweather with everything but the kitchen sink but couldn't KO him.

Maidana took a lot of flack in Argentina when he posted a photo of himself with rolls of banknotes all around him a couple of years ago. He apologized and said that he was parodying "money' mayweather. He looked quite fat in that picture. Now he just looks "prosperous".
