Charlie Z used to post here when he first started. In fact, his first and only recorded fight was brokered on this forum through Stacey Goodson.
Those were strange times indeed. Death threats a plenty.
Re: Haye will punish Bellew !
I watched him with Wilder when Deontay got really pissed off. It was Hysterical! Gotta give the lad some kudos...he's insane!

^^^^^^^ Totally great point!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LMAO! "lookout" Bellow.
Re: Haye will punish Bellew !
Haye is not the best example for fair play, but Bellew behaved like an idiot, so he deserved to be KO'd, brutally..............
Re: Haye will punish Bellew !
I know, but.......
Really, I would like to see Bellew punished. Imagine him as role model for teenagers.....

Haye doesn't look right to me.... I can't put my finger on it but he doesn't have a vibrant and brutally powerful look.
He looked prefect for Audley Harrison and Dereck Chisora.... He looked great for Mark Di Mori and Arnold Gjergjaj... How many guys have 2 G's and 3 J's in their last name? .... Haye doesn't look good right now... He looks and sounds old... He also sounds tired.. I was thinking of Luis Ortiz as I looked at him.... It's sad.. Not everybody is old at 37 or 38... But some are.
If he could have cranked it up after the Chisora fight it would have worked... I think he'll beat Bellew, but fall through his ass in future fights against younger, fresher Heavyweights.

Haye can win if he doesn't split his pancreas
Re: Haye will punish Bellew !
Haye has not looked great since his return. He looked slow as hell against all three opponents.Kalan wrote: ↑05 May 2018, 02:01 Haye doesn't look right to me.... I can't put my finger on it but he doesn't have a vibrant and brutally powerful look.

Haye apparently does like to party but his style was never conducive to age. He relied on speed and reflexes but if he’s fit, he should KO Bellew.

It's a bit of a stretch to say he looked great for De Mori & Arnold Whatshisname: They were bums, in fact, bum is kind; car crash dummies would be more apt.Kalan wrote: ↑05 May 2018, 02:01 Haye doesn't look right to me.... He was heavier & slower too for those 'bouts'.
I tend to agree with you that he has a tired(ish) look about him.
I believe he is on the verge of being done & he knows it, but just wants a big payday before hanging his gloves up.

Speed and reflexes are what made opponents wary of Haye's style. They're also qualities which time steals first.Loki wrote: ↑05 May 2018, 05:15Haye has not looked great since his return. Bellew's entire strategy is based on that plus the inevitable physical erosion that can come with continuously pushing a light frame to it's limit at 37. He's freely admitted that he'd have no chance against a peak Haye, but this isn't a peak Haye.
Bellew's plan of weathering the early rounds and taking over later was a good one. But that plan counted on Haye going for quick KO and taking wild swings, which he did last time.
This time Haye might accept that Bellew can box a little and just settle for outboxing him over 12. Bellew believes that neither Haye's body or tactics will hold up and that he will revert to type before or after his body gives in.
It is difficult to see Haye winning this but we will all soon find out.
Re: Haye will punish Bellew !
In the early seventies, there was a baseball player named Ron Bloomberg. Great talent; great body; great swing...however; he'd get injured by stepping out of the dugout; falling in shower; stubbing toe, etc. I don't think Haye is that bad, but an injury is the only way Bellow wins.
Re: Haye will punish Bellew !
If Haye is injury-free, he might be somewhere between top 3 and top 6 HW (with Parker, Ortiz and Povetkin, neglecting Fury right now). Anyway, we wil see very soon..............oogiebe wrote: ↑05 May 2018, 10:00In the early seventies, there was a baseball player named Ron Bloomberg. I think Haye takes him rather easily. (with the caveat he doesn't get an ingrown toenail)ValMar wrote: ↑05 May 2018, 11:13If Haye is injury-free, he might be somewhere between top 3 and top 6 HW (with Parker, Ortiz and Povetkin, neglecting Fury right now). Re: Haye will punish Bellew !
Legitimately beats Haye a second time. Haye is completely done. He should never box again. Credit to Bellew and his fundamental skills.
