Despite losing to loma, Linares is still in my eyes viable in the light and super lightweight divisions. I think he would beat all of the current champions aside from Garcia and Crawford, both of whom he would be a competitive opponent against; I wouldn't count him out against either of them. He's the first guy to expose really any weakness in loma,(the Salido fight doesn't really count in my mind) So, unless he is gonna retire, where does he go from here?
Why doesn't the Salido fight count? The Salido fight exposed Loma's MAIN weakness. Mauling, pressure fighters that simply attack, and don't care if they look good or not.
That being said I'd say Linares just kinda hovers as a solid contender for another few years. MAYBE picks up another belt, but it'll be tougher for him from here on out.
The only Loma's weakness Salido fight exposed was his lack of pro experience. The same tactics used by Salido now wouldn't work.
...and you know this because...?

He hasn't fought anyone with the same style. Stop trying to make it out like he has. Plus, Salido was struggling to make weight, and he obviously cut a lot. Salido is past prime, and sadly, I don't see any fighters at 135 lbs. that would use their weight like that.
Definitely needed a rematch at 130 lbs., but Salido was busy on a different gauntlet.

Nobody's tried those tactics since Salido.
Roughhousing, mauling, not giving him a chance to move, constantly attacking him whether it looks good or not.
That'd be the way to beat him.
Salido wouldn't be able to do it again, but somebody else might, and they'd need to follow Salido's blueprint to have a chance.
I'd almost guarantee you if you see Vasyl get beaten again it's gonna be by THAT kinda fighter.

...Salido vs Lomachenko was one of those numerous examples when the result was predetermined by the less than qualified referee IMO..

No it was most definitely was not pre-determined.
Salido just gave him fits because he didn't allow him to move around on him, and fought a really rough fight.
Now granted Salido probably should've lost more points due to low blows...but hey...if you can get away with it. Do it.

..no problem with mauling and roughhousing as long as you stick to the basic rules otherwise it just turns into a street fight..the referee just failed to do his job which affected the final score...

I don't even have a problem with guys breaking the rules myself. As long as they're smart about it.
Hell I wouldn't be above it if I was in there. It's a fight. It's not a dance.
That being said, Ref's should definitely do their job. Boxers are their to fight. Ref's are their to enforce the rules and protect the fighters. If a ref ain't doing his job he should be called on it.

You can't pick and choose which fights count on the basis that you either like or don't like the outcome
