Yeah maybe. Especially the manner of the wins. He's been done at feather for a long time now. That last night might have taken whatever fight he has left away! He was sagging from early on and hurt a number of times.

What was his best payday with Hearn?
Not a clue but he needs to be active and in the spotlight
That’s what he was when he beat Gradovich - active/fighting regular and then signed with Al Haymon as the cash dried up.

Hindsight is wonderful thing but was dire decision by his team.

Needs to move up and see what he has got left.... still only 31 but i tend to think that is reasonably old in the lower weights.

There will be plenty of opportunities whatever he wants to do.
In fact being beatable opens the most doors in the game

I think losing his belt closes more doors than being beatable opens.

Not looking good for him atm. They should have dumped the belt and moved up. Selby was done by the time he got to the ring last night. No power at all. Reaction time worryingly poor. Weak from the off. Thought his management/coaching team let him down badly last night. Went for money before safety.

They need to stop thinking they can maybe get away with it and start making sensible decisions. The guys been showing signs for a while now. There was absolutely no signs of Lee objecting when the ref wanted to stop it in the fifth. The guy himself knew he had little in the tank. His coach could have got him out of there without having to take another 7 rounds of punishment. He came in with nothing....someone with experience should have looked at it and seen what was going on by the fifth round point. Selby's never been a power puncher...but last night all he could do was push his punches.

Wasn't a case of just needing a let's grit it out Lee your just needing some motivation pep talk.

He took a beating in there, had two bad cuts, and was beaten all night to the punch. He had no idea how to hold off or nullify Warrington, and came of worse in nearly every exchange, and that's all he did for 12 rounds.

I don't know, but he looked bad on Saturday. No doubt he'll carry on, but I doubt he's getting better at his age.

I suppose that's the problem when you try to become a master boxer without sitting on punches. Selby revamped his style after the Stephen smith fight. Part of what makes that work is having good power in your counters.

You look at mayweather early in fights and when he makes a guy miss he has the technique and leverage to get good power into his counter punch which is what kept the likes of canelo in check. Canelo didn't come into the fight to be outclassed, he was coming to destroy mayweather but after some hard counter punches early he had to regroup. Mayweather having an iron chin obviously helped but when the chips were down and he was up against iron chinned brawlers like maidana and mosley he was willing to stand there and plant his feet to throw power shots and regain their respect. He very well could have been done by Mosley in that second round but actually ended up having mosley on the backfoot at the end of the round. Essentially he won the fight at that point . He did it against corley and Judah too.

Are you comparing him to Floyd because Selby's nickname is the 'Welsh Mayweather'?

I know what you mean, there is a certain type of backfoot-boxer who seems to want his opponent to be discouraged by a few taps and relies on the opponent playing the game and giving them all the time in the world to throw out a couple of love-taps and move away to start the process again. when the opponent doesn't cooperate it can be pretty ugly for the mover guy- almost like they wish the format was one of those weird points-karate type things where you get awarded points for a brief tap

Lee Selby done with featherweight

Welsh boxer Lee Selby says it was "only a matter of time," until he lost his IBF world featherweight title due to problems making the nine stone limit.

Selby, 31, says will not fight at featherweight again after losing his title to Josh Warrington.

"Getting to the nine stone limit has obviously taken its toll," he said.

Two weight world champion aim

Having been an overwhelming favourite heading into the fight, Selby admits it has been a long time since he has boxed at his best, despite successful title defences against Fernando Montiel, Eric Hunter, Jonathan Victor Barros and Eduardo Ramirez, since winning the title in 2015.

Selby was tipped for a summer showdown with Carl Frampton had he been victorious in Leeds, but admits the prospect of a big pay day has kept him in the featherweight division.

"I lost and I think it is time for me to move up the weights. I am 31-years-old and getting to the nine stone limit has obviously taken its toll over the years," Selby told BBC Radio Wales.

"I think it's shown in my last few performances, they have been well below par, well below the standards I set for myself.

"Luckily I've scraped through with my fitness and my skillset, but it was just a matter of time,"
[until he got beaten].

Selby admits financial reward kept him in the division, despite it becoming tougher to perform at the nine stone limit.

"I had to stay in the featherweight division because of the high profile and big money fights that were waiting for me if I got past that last fight," he said.

"But unfortunately I didn't, so now I've got to try and win a world title at a different weight.

"My average weight walking around is 11-and-a-half stone, around Christmas I was almost 12 stone, so getting down to the nine stone limit is a big drop for me."
