As for the fight, Brown did not knock Norton down. In the first round he made a mad charge at Ken who sort of fell into a corner, partially off balance and from Vic's punches, but not down. There was no count and the fight resumed where Ken started getting to Vic with combos and body blows and he ended it in the 4th. A boxing myth.
I'm going with your account, after all, sir as it's the closest to the actual source that I just got my hands on. That being the September 1971 issue of The Ring which featured a small account of the fight in its pages. Which states that Norton survived a rough first round in which he was staggered but makes no mention of a knockdown or of a count being given.

What a monumental waste of time and way to poison this forum. Mission accomplished. Whoever made you a mod needs their head examined.
Klompton, you'll be happy to know that we are engaging a new sort of identifying system to sort out the multiple personalities among us. As far as your tolerance for the unique opinions among us, I'm sure you could sort it quickly.

I often like reading your contributions....but based on this you just might qualify as a pious self aggrandizing ass, with low tolerance for diversity of opinions. Interesting....as a writer I would expect that you would be a bit open minded, and wanting to have evidence to support your theories.

Unless you have your premise first, and then follow it up by simply utilizing your discovery process to gather all the facts that support your pre determined premise. ...... I'm just sayin'.

Doesn't make you a bad person......just narrow minded judgmental intellectual who already has all the answers. I sort of like that self confidence, but I also like to gather my own facts and determine credibility in my own way. I liked your book. But will wonder just how it came to pass and how authentic your various assumptions may or may not be.

By the way....your not exactly the "average" contributory yourself......no one is.

Coming from a clown that entertained Il duce to the point of deference until your boss had to step in and be the adult in the room I think I’m the one standing on solid ground. You keep on bragging about entertaining the “oddballs” who are here to damage this site. Makes me wonder why you even chose to be a mod. Thank god youre not the only one with the keys to the castle.

As for keeping an open mind: It wasn’t about being closed minded. It was about knowing exactly what I was talking about in exposing that lying ass time and time again with facts backed up cited sources. The fact that to this day you can’t comprehend the difference between a fact backed up by sources and lies constantly exposed is pretty sad on your part. Of course I’m not the first to suspect that you and Il Duce were the same person and your “willingness to entertain him” was done to inflame the few people left on this forum dedicated to fact based statistics in order to generate clicks. Regardless he was a lying stain on this forum and your reputation as a MODERATOR.

Klompton....it's good that we can have these talks, your such a gentle sweet soul...........it really is all about benefit for you... totally selfless and worried about "others who's minds might have been poisoned." It really must have been horrific for you. I apologize for not removing him from your presence at an earlier point in time. After this terrible reputation ruining episode, you can be sure I will of course keep a close ear to the ground for any proclamations you may issue in the future...when those "unclean opinions" begin to sweep us away in the future. As they somehow inevitable do.

It's clear that with you it's not just a petty case of "off with their heads" .

By the way, I was not opposed to his departure.....I felt your suffering...and it was a consensus call regardless of what you think you know. But don't go get getting all gushy and loving up on me based on this revelation.

It is really quite noticable that a large section of the manuscript
is not in the published book.
Particularly his fights the year or two(1971-early 1972) before he fought Ali the first time.
a big gap there for some reason, especially with no mention of his fight of the year nominee with Jack O'Halloran in early 1972 San Diego .
Were the pages lost somewhere ?
Norton goes into detail in a number of lesser fights later in the book.
yeah, his autobiography jumps from his fight with Jose Luis Garcia in 1970 to Henry Clark in 1972.

Your opinion means jack shit to me and we both know you had absolutely nothing to do with it Duce getting the boot. In fact your continued defense of him probably sped up the process whereby others took control and did what you were too impotent to do yourself.

Is Jack one of the writers you most admire? Related to "Winnie" I assume..
I appreciate that.

Now please know this Kman....Your opinion is every bit as important to me as the folks you take great umbrage with. I've read hundreds of thousands of opinions as a reader here, and I can say without a doubt, yours are often every bit as awesome as the next fellas.
