Well generally i agree - i was also surprised how Connor did vs Floyd, he did better than i thoughtImpractical Poster wrote: ↑29 Aug 2018, 12:33I don't care. It's hard to imagine any other novice coming in and giving one of the best to ever lace them up as difficult a time as Conor did. 40 really isn't that old for a TBE, to take care of business against a newby.dagilechia wrote: ↑29 Aug 2018, 11:11That why he gassed out quickly. Novice or not, Conor gave Floyd a tougher first half than the majority of his previous opponents..... including Canelo.
It shouldn't matter if he gassed or not, the majority of boxing fans did not expect Conor to win a single, much less the 1st half of the fight. Now that he did, Floyd's inactivity comes into play.
Conor was very unconventional, bigger, and stronger. He's in his prime to. Kudos to Floyd for figuring out the enigma and stopping him.
Not sure if he was that strong. Considering he hit Floyd a few times clean and couldn't even manage to do what 140lb Corley, Mosley, and Judah did.Impractical Poster wrote: ↑29 Aug 2018, 12:33I don't care. Correct, and Benvenutti was just one example of a fighter going better than 50-0 prior to Mayweather.
He is powerful. His punches in boxing were strange. The way he throws his punches in MMA generates much more leverage and power than the way he was throwing in boxing. I guess he had to change his style which affected his leverage in order to be competitive in boxing. Had he fought Floyd with the similar approach he fights in MMA, he probably would have gotten trashed early. He throws a lot into the shots in MMA. He was smart enough to know Floyd would not get hit with the same types of shots he throws in MMA, and he would have been countered to death.IKSRTFO wrote: ↑29 Aug 2018, 14:09Not sure if he was that strong.
