That sounds a bit strange to me. Did they have nothing better to do than obsess over the Clever one‘s coursework?

And he only got a 2:2 after all those A's! If someone was pulling strings he would have had a 1st or at least a 2:1
Also he went to uni when you needed A'Levels to go and would have got good Grades to go to Cardiff, at least 3 B's

According to his website, he got 10 GCSEs (4 A*, 4 A’s, 1 B and 1 C) and 3 ‘A’ levels, (2 A’s 1 B), which sounds about right to be accepted into Cardiff Uni. So clearly he’s intelligent enough, doubt the lecturers would have given a toss about his boxing tbh.

2.2 in Maths at Uni is still good. Very difficult subject at that level. Pure Maths is a very difficult subject to comprehend/get your head around. He is defo a switched on kid to get a maths degree. A level Maths was tough, Uni is another level. Hope he's used his gift with numbers to look after and invest the money he made over his career.

Seriously though, someone needs to sit Nathan down and explain to him that it isn't the fans fault that he opted to spend his prime fighting Aleksy Kuziemski, Tommy Karpency, Tony Bellew, Shawn Hawk and Robin Krasniqi. It's sad but Nathan made his decisions, and while he at least can fondly reminisce over nights like Cleverly/Karpency, he can't seriously expect anyone else to.

Bellew is a good result, with hindsight. Fonfara was a top drawer fight. Kovalev was way too much, maybe if they knew Kov had no heart they’d have boxed differently. Braehmer wasn’t bad, either. And the ease he won at domestic level whilst studying at a red brick British university and his dad training him alone is astonishing. He even did 12 one handed and two stones overweight against Bellew second time round. Haye couldn’t do it once.

Cleverley has had a very very good career all things considered.
He is still only a baby and has boxed some good wins and whilst not getting the decision boxed in at least one classic against Fonfara.
I understand that he has put money into property and I don't think he is spending a lot maintaining an image the way that some young sportsmen do so I am sure he will manage.

Degree coursework isn’t graded A,B,C etc like school, its on a percentage basis and weighted for your final score.

A 2:2 means an overall final score between 50% and 60%.

It does seem an odd thing to criticise Cleverly for - the first part of the post is criticising his run of ‘easy’ title fights, then the very next part criticises him for getting beaten by Kovalev! I could understand the criticism if Cleverly never stepped up his opposition, but he did (and in fairness, he did it against FW’s wishes - FW knew the Kov fight was a bad idea, but Clev insisted on it as wanted to properly test himself).

I would say that although Cleverly did have a run of disappointing opposition when he was champion, he more than made up for it later in his career.

miserable tuan just loves trashing fghters. its no wonder consderng he says he doesnt actually enjoy the sport anymore and pretty much done with it. funny because he says stuff about guys not challenging themselves but then is negatve even when they do. hes even just all negatve about guys such as usy who have done things the hard way and won each time

clev had a good career and fought some good opponents even though there were soft touches too. was in some really fun fghts too. bellew 1 for example was really hard fought and spirited between them

Cleverly is done. He took a good hiding from Jack and looked a shell of himself. He's not coming back and if he does it will be a bad idea. Kovalev really destroyed his confidence.

Wasn't he training alone and with one of his mates. His last few fights he didn't do things properly. It all seemed very unprofessional.

Would be interesting to see him get his head sorted and move to a proper trainer if he were to come back. Make a proper go of it. Always thought he was an underrated boxer because most of the time he chose to scrap it out. He actually showed better skills on the way up and seemed to get drawn in to a scrap easier as he got older! Strange.
