12 dominant rounds or a big bad tko. I know what I'd rather see.
And your response relates to the point in what way?

No one asked what you would rather see, as I am sure most would agree with you and of course I do too. You used the word "dominant" and defended it and I responded to that, not what you, me or anyone else would rather see.
KO is the biggest act of dominance in the sport.
No, It is conclusive. It is not dominance. FML.

Put your opponent on his arse in all kinds of trouble, best way to win, Povetkin won't be taking much away from the bout or thinking about dominance.

Just seems a little weird bringing promoters in to it!

I’m not a massive fan of Joshua, although I am a fan. I think he’s great for the sport. He’s the type who has the kids wanting to go down their local gym and try boxing and that’s a massive positive.
I also think, that AJ is good for the sport. Well, he has his arguable moments, but everyone had them and overall he's gradually proving to be the best there is. The main thing is his fights are interesting to watch.

My take on it is that most haters actually hate the hype and surroundings rather than the fighter himself. People want to see the hangers on and hype men humbled more than they do Joshua.

He really couldn't be more crowd pleasing, but when Povetkin breaks his nose and wobbles him at the end of a round, you still get Adam Smith etc claiming he's controlling the fight. It turns people off and makes them want to see him come up short to shut these people up.

Like I say, not the fighters fault, just the people and hype that surrounds him. Maybe they should be more humble like their hero.

Exactly.....fucks sake. Povetkin had his moments, joshua looked tight early on, but once he loosened up he flattened a man who had never been stopped.

How can that not be dominant?

You need to get through Nelson first since Adams snozzle is always up Johnny's arse.

By the way was AJ supposed to do him in one round or something?

This was a top fighter he was fighting.

ya, pov was a top 5 hw and had been for years. the anti-aj/hearn ppl wanted to make it seem like he was just some useless ancient rollover job even though hes been beating younger guys for years and has one of the divisions strongest records. same type of ppl who were going on about him being old whille not bothering to mention that wilder and furys best wins were actually older, and that pov would still easily be a career best or second best opponent for them

like mentioned above i think most the 'hate' is mainly toward the hype machine etc. it can be annoying when things are totally biased, and its almost like treating the fans as idiots who cant see things for what they actually are.

:TU: Indeed. All you can do is shake your head. After a decade of total dominance by giant Ukrainian cardboard cutouts, we have a great, young champion who takes chances and always is looking to KTFO his opponent.

That is what I would call a very good point indeed :TU:

But looking at AJ last night , I personaly had rnds
1-2 Poletvkin
3-4 AJ
5 even
6 -AJ rnd 7 does'nt matter .

But for me 2 things stood out about this fight

1---- Poletvkin was a LOT better than i gave him credit for , , I know he was good , but had'nt relized how good he still was , i think the Poletvkin who fought AJ , stops Wilder , simply because Wilder has'nt the defence to keep him off , a early ko is Wilders only chance ,,,, Fury on the other hand i think if he's back to form , out boxes Poletvkin easy , style make fights

2---- How much Aj has actually improved , Ok he got caught , and actually hurt , but he recovered , you cannot fight a guy has good as Poletvkin , and not get caught sometime or another , , I always put Aj down has a big lumbering muscle bound , Frank Bruno clone ,, but i think he's actually starting to loosen up , get better footwork , faster hands , and a better boxing brain , and doing all this while a 3 belt holder , , how good is he eventually going to become , when in his learning fights he's beating these guys , ... Like others have pointed out in other threads , look at Wilders record after 22 fights , look at Furys record , whats comparable , they both beat Vlad , and thats all . I know most were not impressed by AJ'S fight last night , but i think he gave a good performance , he weathered some heavy blows , which would off stopped others , and came back boxing smart enough to get back in the fight and do what no one else has done
you want too see the hate fury gets

I really enjoy watching Joshua fight and am going crazy waiting on the inevitable Wilder showdown.
What I don't like is that he sounds scripted every time the cameras are on. Reminds me of Oscar DeLaHoya and his fake persona.
I'd rather he talk from the heart.
He just seems fake.
Time will tell if he's a genuine goody 2 shoes or another flake like fake Oscar.

No, they are conclusive, not dominant.
I agree, I think it was coyle v Matthews where even Derry said after Coyle was dominant throughout the fight then derry caught him and that was it...Coyle was dominant Derry was conclusive.

I can understand the hate - it's the Sky and Eddie hype machine that people hate.

As for AJ himself, he's been brilliant for the sport. Likeable, has engaged the general public, knocks people out, taken on some tough fights in a relatively young career, is in exciting fights (9 times out of 10), looks the part, Ring magazine number one.

I want to watch him fight and look forward to it when he does. I predict his popularity amongst the more dedicated boxing fans will sky-rocket once he tastes his first defeat and comes back - ironically, it'll probably plummet with the casuals.

I don't like Joshua, Wilder or Fury. I think all 3 of them are absolute bell ends who are credited with being better fighters than they actually are.

Don't get me wrong, i enjoy having them in the division and all 3 have a certain xfactor. Their talent level in terms of technical ability is nowhere near p4p level of Crawford/Loma/Alvarez but that's the heavyweights. Freakish size and power.

Agree with all of this. How can you not like Joshua as a fighter. Powerful, plenty of bottle, enough question marks over his chin to make his fights interesting. And he's getting better.

Too bad someone like Smith, who has been covering boxing for over two decades, can't read a fight much less commentate on one and is actually contributing to some dislike from the hardcore. That and plenty of people on our Island are just basically jealous of anyone successful.

Possibly. Whyte certainly isn't the complete package but he's a talented heavyweight that isn't reliant upon physical gifts as much as say Fury or AJ. He also think hes vastly imoroved since his bout with Joshua. Has AJ improved since then? Maybe a little, he still seems very basic to me. I also find Whyte's style to be far more entertaining. His bouts vs Chisora & Parker are possibly the 2 best HW contests I've seen in recent years.

Ive always said I like him as a fighter but can't stand the circus and constant bullshit/over the top hype that surrounds him. Hearn is a cùnt, Sky and 99% of the pundits are cùnts, Adam Smith is a cùnt, Barney Francis is a cùnt, his casual poncho wearing sweet Calorine fanboys are cùnts and his fake media trained demeanour is the definition of cùnt! When you mix all that together you're left with a massive pile of jagged cùnt with teeth! A vicious cùnt!

P.s The Whyte fight next April is a cùnt and anyone that believes it'll be anyone other than Whyte is a cùnt.

P.p.s The 'rapper' that 'rapped' him in to the ring on Saturday was also a cùnt......
