It seems highly-likely that Dillian Whyte won't be facing Dereck Chisora during December.
Another opponent has apparently been lined-up for 'The Body Snatcher', but it won't be Luis Ortiz either.
"Dillian Whyte says Dereck Chisora in 'massive danger' of missing out on O2 rematch"
Dillian Whyte admits there is a 'massive danger' of Dereck Chisora missing out on a rematch - and has called on his British rival to agree terms this week.
The Brixton heavyweight is training towards a possible date of December 22 at The O2, but Chisora is still yet to agree terms for a second fight, even after hiring David Haye as his new manager last week.
Whyte is growing frustrated at the drawn out negotiations and warned Chisora that he could switch his attention to an alternative opponent, if a deal is not reached in the next few days.
"I think it needs to be done this week, if it's going to be him [Chisora]," Whyte told Sky Sports. "There's other options on the table we are looking at. [Promoter] Eddie [Hearn] is speaking to a few people.
"Chisora is a fight the fans want to see, and it's a fight I want to have, because I want to bash his head in, and just get the stoppage that I should have taken care of the first time around. Let's see.
"There is a massive danger he will miss out on a career highest pay day. At the minute, as the deal stands, it's getting worse.
"I've got options, he ain't really got no options. The Anthony Joshua fight is there for me, there's other fights that are there for me, and I'm just 30, so I've got so many options."
The unlikely partnership of Chisora and Haye has not unsettled Whyte, who hopes the former WBA heavyweight champion can help to reach a resolution.
"It's good that those two are working together, but Dereck Chisora has got no morals and no class," Whyte added.
"This is the same man that humiliated him and beat him up. Chisora is a bit lost, so I think he needs David Haye for stability.
"I wasn't surprised. Dereck is an idiot. He does weird stuff. A lot of what Dereck does, does not make logical sense, or financial sense.
"Haye is a bit more professional, and a bit more logical than Chisora is, but Haye is a massive ego-maniac, so you never know. He's a lot more sensible than Dereck Chisora is, but this is David's game we're talking here, so I don't know."
Whyte remains willing to fight other contenders instead, including Cuban Luis Ortiz, who had suggested he would battle 'The Body Snatcher' in Britain.
"[Dominic] Breazeale, Luis Ortiz or Adam Kownacki, [Jarrell] Miller, all of those guys," said Whyte. "Those are the kind of guys I would like to fight, so let's see what happens.
"Eddie is actively in talks with some of them as well.
"Ortiz is silly. Ortiz is just a desperate old man. The grandad needs some pension money, that's all."

I'd like to see the Ortiz fight for Whyte. If not, both Breazeale or Miller would be great aswell.

"Dereck Chisora expects to finally agree a rematch with Dillian Whyte"
Dereck Chisora insists his heavyweight rematch with Dillian Whyte is "going to happen" and expects to finally agree terms next week.
Whyte won their first meeting by split decision in December 2016 but had raised doubts about a second fight with Chisora at The O2 on December 22, insisting there was a "massive danger" of his British rival missing out on a lucrative bout.
But Finchley man Chisora, now managed by David Haye, is still confident the lengthy negotiations will be concluded in the next few days.
"We want to fight Dillian. It's going to happen," Chisora told Sky Sports. "Why is it not going to happen?
"It will be announced when [promoter Eddie Hearn] comes back from America, I think. Talks are going well.
"We're just waiting for Eddie to come back from America. He's in America and he'll be back on Monday."
Whyte had suggested the deal was getting "worse", warning Chisora that he would look at other options, and had entered talks with Dominic Breazeale.
Chisora was not concerned by Whyte's comments, saying: "Oh man, tell the puppy not to worry. The fight is happening on the December 22."
Talks had intensified since July when Chisora enjoyed a career-best knockout win against Carlos Takam on the same night as Whyte overcame Joseph Parker.
Chisora has since named Haye, a former rival to whom he lost a fight in 2012, as his manager.

I'd much rather see Ortiz v. Whyte. I think that would be an exceptional matchup!

I hadn't seen this. Big step up for Kaufmann. Should be interesting at the very least.

I agree. Most hardcore fans, and that includes anyone sufficiently invested to frequent a boxing forum, would prefer to see Whyte v Ortiz, but we are vastly outnumbered by casual fans and in the UK they know little of Ortiz and would prefer the Chisora rematch.
I was convinced their first meeting would be a great fight in fact the prospect of it was what prompted my first foray into the world of PPV. It certainly wasn't the headliner Joshua v Molina I wasn't fussed about watching that or missing it.
Despite my manic enthusiasm for their first fight which even exceeded my sky-high expectations, I find I'm curiously unenthused about a rematch. I feel Chisora is a risky fight and Dillian has bigger fish to fry.
Financially it makes sense though I can't deny it.
