I wonder if Wilder wins if this will help sway the opinion that a good small man can beat a good big man?punchoutsb wrote: ↑30 Nov 2018, 19:43Some people think guys who cut weight to make 200 are too small to be successful heavyweights. probably not because Wilder gets zero credit

Yeah but he's in good shape, he's always in good shape, so he doesn't need to be 200lbs.punchoutsb wrote: ↑30 Nov 2018, 19:43Some people think guys who cut weight to make 200 are too small to be successful heavyweights. And there's no need to fight at cruiser when you're wbc heavyweight champion.
So it's all a bit pointless.
Re: What are your Wilder vs Fury weight predictions?
Considering that Wilder's best bet here is the speed and quickness with which he can catch Fury coming in lighter is probably a good thing for him.
Re: What are your Wilder vs Fury weight predictions?
It's a good win for either guy so whoever wins deserves the credit.tiny_acres wrote: ↑30 Nov 2018, 19:45I wonder if Wilder wins if this will help sway the opinion that a good small man can beat a good big man?punchoutsb wrote: ↑30 Nov 2018, 19:43Some people think guys who cut weight to make 200 are too small to be successful heavyweights. I agree with you. But you know as well as I do we keep seeing people state that todays heavyweights are to big and strong for 220 pound heavyweights to compete. People even calling for another weight class because they say its not fairgilgamesh wrote: ↑30 Nov 2018, 19:48There's already a century of evidence out there that a good small man can beat a good big man.tiny_acres wrote: ↑30 Nov 2018, 19:45I wonder if Wilder wins if this will help sway the opinion that a good small man can beat a good big man?punchoutsb wrote: ↑30 Nov 2018, 19:43

I think that everybody, including myself, believes that a small man CAN beat a big man, but let’s not pretend that size doesn’t matter and that physically bigger men don’t have an advantage over their smaller counterparts.tiny_acres wrote: ↑30 Nov 2018, 19:45I wonder if Wilder wins if this will help sway the opinion that a good small man can beat a good big man?punchoutsb wrote: ↑30 Nov 2018, 19:43Some people think guys who cut weight to make 200 are too small to be successful heavyweights. Nobody said he needs to fight at Cruiser. I'm using Wilder as a current example for those uninformed that think you've got to weigh over 240 to be a successful HW.ewenhay wrote: ↑30 Nov 2018, 19:46Yeah but he's in good shape, he's always in good shape, so he doesn't need to be 200lbs.punchoutsb wrote: ↑30 Nov 2018, 19:43Some people think guys who cut weight to make 200 are too small to be successful heavyweights. I read all sorts of ludicrous excuses as to their reasons why Wilder was physically incapable of making 200lbs, but there’s so much evidence to support Deontay’s claims that it actually seems moronic to even claim otherwise. The numbers simply don’t lie!
Does anybody sincerely believe that a fully hydrated version of Deontay Wilder that weighs 212½lbs cannot make 200lbs with consummate ease?![]()
My morning constipootional is usually around that number without having to dehydrate.

It wasn't you I was replying to in the first instance. It was to someone saying Wilder could make cruiserweight no problem.
For what it's worth I agree with you. Of course the lighter guy can win at heavyweight, especially if he's fast and hits hard.

Absolutely, and it's got to be speed. Despite his size, Fury is not the easiest boxer to tag, and Wilder will lose if he can't land.tiny_acres wrote: ↑30 Nov 2018, 19:07I do agree I think closer 220-225 would of been his goal.
Breland probably has a reason for this
Wlad, and everyone else mostly got beaten to the punch against Fury or caught by quick counters. That's no good to Deontay Wilder, he needs the fastest hands he has.
As they say, its the ones you don't see...

Re: What are your Wilder vs Fury weight predictions?
Fury to win by stoppage around the 10th. Wilder will try to start out fired up straight out of the gate, get embarrassed, and resort to trying to box Tyson but will find he can't do that well enough, and then go for broke but will be too reckless and Fury lowers the boom.
Wilder coming in 3 pounds heavier than his pro debut--- is evident of a man who has overtrained out of fear or no real faith in himself. Wilder's actions at the last press conference being logically incoherent and frantic--- is evident of a man who is emotionally and mentally burnt out.
He'll be dangerous, yes, but I think he'll play it both too rough and too cautious at different times in the fight which will only further increase those things.

Re: What are your Wilder vs Fury weight predictions?
Fury looked lighter on some preparation photos, but still he's in a good weight for him. There's no extra-weight, that could have hindered Tyson's movement. Yet this weight-advantage can serve well for Tyson inside. The Gypsy King will bewilder Wilder from any range.

The American’s average weight for his last two bouts is only 213lbs.
It’s clear that ‘The Bronze Bomber’ can make 200lbs easily.
A lot of people mocked my claim, despite Deontay Wilder previously stating that he'd consider making the move down to cruiserweight.
So I find it really ridiculous for people to have argued against this point, whilst falsely citing that Wilder only previously weighed light due to “illness”. What a pile of fµck¡ng bȕllsh¡t! Those stupid fµckȅrs that said such things are as dumb as fȕck!
Come on people, let’s hear those excuses! I want to see someone attempt to engage in this debate with me once again, despite the overwhelming amount of compelling evidence to support my stance! So bring it on – I dare you to do your worst!![]()

Re: What are your Wilder vs Fury weight predictions?
True 50/50 fight in my opinion
I could see Fury getting into a rhythm and boxing to a large points win.
Can also see Fury so aware of the right hand that he walks himself into a fight ending left hook. Wilder has unusual power in both hands. That's what makes him so difficult.
That Hanks Joyce fight is very interesting to me. I think Joyce might be jumping up too fast in competition. Hope he proves me wrong.
