How can you not especially like a man that has to carry around his cojones in a wheelbarrow?
Hard to understand any boxing fan not wanting any of those fights mos' def.

To me Povetkin more than earned his title shot when he got it. He's got a nice resumeoogiebe wrote: ↑20 Dec 2018, 12:23To me he's the only top contender who really fought his way to a title shot. Look at those fights since the AJ loss. And I don't even especially like Whyte.candyslim wrote: ↑20 Dec 2018, 12:21 I wouldn't hold your breath. Ortiz v Povetkin would be an awesome fight even now and by no means a forgone conclusion. Either against Pulev or Parker would also be very interesting.
I agree Whyte has jumped through quite enough hoops and fully deserves his title shot but the sad fact is there isn't any great clamour among UK fans to see him fight Joshua again. I'm sure this is not lost on Eddie Hearn.
I think it's a real shame the WBC didn't make him mandatory and insist on Wilder facing him. Whyte wouldn't start favourite but he'd be in with a shout and nobody can tell me he hasn't earned it.
Don't blame the WBCcandyslim wrote: ↑20 Dec 2018, 18:47 I'm still sore about being deprived of a great fight between Povetkin and Wilder. I thought then it would be extremely competitive in the sense that it could have gone either way - I don't mean it couldn't be a brutal one-sided beat down.
Three years later I haven't changed my opinion and I shall almost certainly regret the cancellation of that fight until my time is up. F#%& the WBC !
True that. but to be honest, I'd have liked to have seen that fight.tiny_acres wrote: ↑20 Dec 2018, 19:11Don't blame the WBCcandyslim wrote: ↑20 Dec 2018, 18:47 I'm still sore about being deprived of a great fight between Povetkin and Wilder. I have this sickening feeling that Whyte won't get his title shot in April. Sickening in the sense that he actually earned it, given he gets past chisora.tiny_acres wrote: ↑20 Dec 2018, 19:16I'd still like to see it. It's a good match up
It's time Hearn gives him a shot. He's earned it.oogiebe wrote: ↑20 Dec 2018, 19:17I have this sickening feeling that Whyte won't get his title shot in April. Sickening in the sense that he actually earned it, given he gets past chisora.
You know what I think about that. Let's not re-hash it again. I'll just say "do you have any reason to consider the WBC to be on the level?" They are corrupt to the very core and don't always even feel the need to disguise it. The WBA are even worse which is one hell of an achievement.tiny_acres wrote: ↑20 Dec 2018, 19:11Don't blame the WBCcandyslim wrote: ↑20 Dec 2018, 18:47 I'm still sore about being deprived of a great fight between Povetkin and Wilder. You should because it was obvious bias. Stiverne tested positive and still got his shot.tiny_acres wrote: ↑20 Dec 2018, 19:11Don't blame the WBCcandyslim wrote: ↑20 Dec 2018, 18:47 I'm still sore about being deprived of a great fight between Povetkin and Wilder. I don't know if he'd be the favorite, but I also don't know why he'd waste his time. Given the string of contenders he's beaten of late I wouldn't accept anything other than a fight with one of the Big 3 of the division next. He's earned it. Whether he can win or not, he's earned his shot.dagilechia wrote: ↑22 Dec 2018, 19:41 still some people believe that Whyte would be a favourite in this fight?
in fact his only good win was vs Parker and if not the fake KD in the 2nd round and if he was deducted a point for fouling it could go either waygilgamesh wrote: ↑22 Dec 2018, 19:44I don't know if he'd be the favorite, but I also don't know why he'd waste his time. tell me who else has done more without getting a shotdagilechia wrote: ↑22 Dec 2018, 19:49 who else he beaten? No one that's who. Whyte is deserving of a shot. No one else has fought his way to a shot in a long time.jamamb wrote: ↑22 Dec 2018, 19:55tell me who else has done more without getting a shotdagilechia wrote: ↑22 Dec 2018, 19:49 who else he beaten? No other Heavyweight contender has come even close to beating the contender or fringe contender level guys he has without getting a shot. Not Luis Ortiz, Not Miller, not nobody. He's earned his shot man.dagilechia wrote: ↑22 Dec 2018, 19:49 who else he beaten?
