Would it kill eddie not to negotiate everything in the media?
I totally agree. It's so frustrating to hear all the rumors and innuendos. We even heard Klitchko. Hearn is a nightmare, and so is his golden goose. They need to shut the f'k up and fight someone.
I'm sure we'd all love fights just to happen, but this is a sport like none other, and you of all guys should know that. Hearn is one of the better things to happen to modern boxing, and considering the profile of Joshua, he will be harder and harder to match. Look at how long it took for Mayweather v PAC or Canelo v GGG.
I would like to see a centralised body watching over boxing, but whilst the guys that are running the current show are getting rich, things will not change.

Wasn't aware he was the sports "biggest global star"
LOL! I noticed that as well.
I'd say Pacquiao is a much bigger global star. Sports fans, not just boxing fans, know his name.
I don't think that Joshua's name recognition remotely approaches Pac's.
I'd include Mayweather too, but let's respect his claim to being retired.
Mayweather and Pacquiao are not current in the eyes of this generation of boxing fans. Yeah sure they were, but AJ is currently ahead, and probably destined to be much bigger when he cracks America.

He’s a clear number two right now. Not bad

Hearn has been good for boxing in the sense that his fighters seem happy with what they are paid and appear to be getting paid on time as he hasn't had any lawsuits yet.
Other than that he is no better than any other promoter for the sport. If anything a lot of his cards leave a lot to he desired.

I always thought Coming To America should have a sequel.

Glad AJ is finally keeping his word and coming to fight in America. He was saying that for as far back as about a year ago. I wouldnt be surprised if Fury coming here to face Wilder helped inspire Joshua to live up to his stated intention after all this time.

I think the link between Fury and Joshua here is a bit tenuous. The plan has already been in place to debut in the US for some time.
I guess Miller doesn't realise that he's just a pawn in the AJ marketing machine.

I think that DAZN, rather than Fury, inspired Joshua to come to the US.
The new streaming network has invested a lot of money in him, and you have to assume that he and Hearn were pressured to unveil him in America.
Right now in the US, Joshua is little recognized. Just some big British guy.
DAZN wants a return on its investment. It wants to see Joshua become a true global name rather than simply a regional champion.

I'd be interested to see who lines Joshua's pockets more, Sky or DAZN.

I think hearn is learning that America doesn't watch boxing. Dazn is awesome, but it isn't going to create fans out of thin air. The heavyweight title can't compete with golf, much less reality TV.

But basically DAZN is in the boxing business. It's their job to do what it can to increase interest in the sport in America.
Especially when it concerns fighters it has tied to hefty, long term contracts.
Joshua appears to be set to earn his biggest purse ever against Miller and much of that money is coming from DAZN.
You better believe that this new streaming network wants Joshua and Hearn to show that this was a wise investment.
That can be partially accomplished by bringing the champion to the US and raising his profile here.
Boxing in America may never again compete with the NFL, NBA or even golf when it comes to fan interest and television ratings. It's doomed to remain a niche sport.
But that doesn' t mean you throw in the towel and remain satisfied with its obscure nature.
There's too much money involved.

As useless as I find pulev I'd rather him get that out of the way than fight Miller.
It's a mandatory, so I can see your point. We've seen just about every name mentioned in some sort of rumor regarding an opponent for AJ. Such a joke when Hearn is involved.
I think the real question is how long before slim stops 100% blaming wilder?
Never I heard he thinks Wilder created cancer and was the mastermind behind 9/11
If wilder cured cancer he'd call it a conspiracy.
Hey Wilder is definitely innocent. I can't even accuse him of harbouring any aggressive intentions toward Anthony Joshua.
