So if Joshua is getting 32 million to fight the completely unknown Miller.
What will he really want to face Fury or Wilder.
I just can't see money being made on this Miller fight. DAZN must want a tax write off
Thing is, Fury and Wilder don’t earn that combined when they fight each other and Joshua gets it fighting a relative nobody?! Mental
Joshua is the golden goose

When it comes to earning money in the heavyweight division, Joshua is so far ahead of the rest it’s riridculous.
If this is true then Fury and Wilder are dreaming if they think they’ll ever get near 50/50! Crazy moolah
He better keep winning though or that will change fast.

Who can beat him though? Money aside, he will take some beating by any of this current crop. I can see him staying undefeated for a good while yet.

Anybody can beat him. Miller could beat him. Did anyone expect Lewis to lose the fights that he did? Or Wlad? Just because he looks the part doesn't mean he won't be a disappointment.

UK PPV sales?! Lol. What time are they expecting to put the fight on at UK time? They can't seriously be expecting to put it on PPV in the UK at between 1 and 3 am GMT?
An early doors PPV is nothing new. I'm sure it won't make much difference. AJ's target audience usually get to bed about 5 in the morning on Sunday anyway.
Unfortunately you're probably right!

Why would AJ risk a fight with a dangerous opponent like Wilder or Fury when he can get $32M to use Miller as a punching bag?
At least he can retire Miller so he can go fulfill his dream of playing offensive tackle for the Cleveland Browns.

I remember UFC held a card in Manchester not long ago but they wanted to cater it towards the US fans. So the card took place after midnight loca time hahaha.

Nah if keep winning he will make more money, more money to Wilder, and/or Fury and beyond. He's positioned right now to surpass Money Mayweather but he has to keep the winning streak continuing.

Where's your sources, logic? He is 29 years old and making 32 million for facing a guy with as much name recognition as Baldomir. How much did he make vs Povetkin? 40 million? I'm sure you really bothered to add it up.

I seem to recall Haye-Maccarinelli happening quite late too to cater for the septic tanks but I could be wrong.

Garbage fight. Miller is awful.
It looks like a waiting fight, but a spectacular sacrificing of Miller is what's needed by everyone concerned right now. Anthony Joshua is the just the man to deliver it.
Everyone wins and one gets hurt, except perhaps Miller who might see it differently of course. But he will be duly recompensed for his special guest appearance.
This could be a masterstroke. A great way to turn a tricky situation into a huge gain. Can't wait.
So you're agreeing that it's a bad fight, but saying that that's a good thing?
For me as a Joshua fan, yes.
I'm hoping it's as good as Tyson v Tubbs. Great fun whilst it lasted.

You could be right!
Mayweather’s estimated career earnings (from his activities as a boxer alone) is believed to be slightly less than $1 billion.
If we consider the $130m AJ earned by renewing his deal with Matchroom, $32m for the Miller bout, coupled with his estimated total $90m paydays from his first 22 fights, Anthony Joshua’s career earnings are likely to already be in the region of $250m.
For sure, the Brit has got an awful long way to go, but he’s only 29 years of age, he’s likely to compete for another eight years or so and there are a couple of big names in his division that’ll allow him to command mega-money paydays.
Also, there’s nothing preventing AJ from participating in "Mayweather-esque" circus events against MMA fighters either. Imagine how much he’d earn from engaging in a three round Nasukawa-like sparring session against someone like Brock Lesnar? The idea might seem preposterous, but Joshua has already admitted to being tempted to do it if he was paid enough.
I’m not suggesting that it is certain that Anthony Joshua’s career earnings will eventually overtake Floyd Mayweather Jr’s at some point, but I am claiming that it’s at least feasible.

I don't care how much fighters get paid.
I just want to see the best fight each other.

I’m usually of the same opinion, but it’s sometimes far too easy to become intrigued by the monies being quoted by the media, as well as the multitude of reports explaining the reason why some fights aren’t being made (i.e. due to fighter X needing tens of millions of dollars to face fighter Y).
I was shocked to see AJ earning $32m to face an opponent like Jarrell Miller, hence the thread.

Say he beats Miller and Whyte while Fury/Wilder annihilates Fury/Wilder in Ivan Drago/Clubber Laing style....
HOW MUCH will he get for fighting the winner of that ?!
Wembley won't be big enough

Infographic shows the incredible rise in pay days for Anthony Joshua since 2015:
If we convert sterling into US dollars, the combined total of AJ’s paydays reported by this infographic equates to roughly $133m. Joshua also allegedly received an additional $130m last year due to renewing his promotional contract with Matchroom.

1) reason why best cruiserweights move to HW
2) there can be a very loose correlation between the quality of the product/service and its price..

As to Dillian Whyte, Miller has no punching power, that means it's a easy fight for AJ.

Dillion Whyte summed this fight up perfectly;
“Miller is the perfect opponent for America. He looks the part, he’s undefeated, he can’t punch, he’s got a good workrate, you know he will talk the talk. He’s a perfect opponent for them. I wouldn’t waste my time going to the fight, I know what’s going to happen already. Six, seven rounds minimum and then [Miller] is going to get knocked out.”

Hmmm, at the same stage in their careers, Mayweather has just made $8m fighting Baldomir, the biggest payday of his career at that point.
Joshua has already surpassed that a few times.
Joshua doesn’t have the big names at his weight that Floyd did around him though. He’s also more likely to lose than Floyd was so both will hurt his chances of earning what Floyd did, that and longevity.
For Joshua to get anywhere near Floyds career earnings he would probably need Wilder to do a number on Fury in their rematch and then have an up and down fight with him before a mega money rematch. Then go another 5 years undefeated and hope a couple of big names emerge on the scene ( preferably from the US too )
As I say unlikely but Joshua is on course as it stands
