I had Ortiz ahead in the last one , until he punched himself out .
This time around ......wilder hasnt improved .....and ortiz got a couple years older.......hopefully not much slower
I still think ortiz can beat him if he paces himself and can get the ko
OR---a very likely result will be wilder going after him early --1st or 2nd round KO . Man....i hope Kong catches him with a hard counter !!1

I highly doubt that if he faces Ortiz in September. Probably wouldn't fight again until January/February 2020.

I think they have the Kownacki fight planned for then or early next year as i believe they said Fury for April 2020.

Fury? April? I'll believe it when it happens. Maybe if Wilder dispatches Luis early he'll be back before the end of the year. I could see that against a Kownacki.

Yeah I wouldn't count on that fight happening but I think that's the schedule they're working from.

LOL! Schedule or Script!

I've heard that talk too. We just can't believe any of the talk.

Yeah. Since when do today's top tier fighters climb into the ring more than twice annually?
And even that's one too many for a Gary Russell.
Thurman was recently appeared incredulous at a recent presser when he was asked if he planned to fight again in 2019 after the Pacquiao bout.
"A third time this year?" Thurman replied, apparently not believing the suggestion. "No sir. No sir. We get this job done, shoot, we gotta relax."
Apparently 2 years of relaxation is not enough for boxing's modern warriors.

Quickly fill Wilders dance card!
That will quell all the reporters questions about when he will fight AJ or Fury

No, word is they're pressing legally to sell and recoup losses. Dana white.

Wow, terrible move. The backlash for the rematch is odd to me but I can't imagine more than 150k buys tops. Ortiz has always made absurd business moves, I'll bet he has a low upside that made him think it's worth more than Josh. Initially I was thinking it was ambitious to take out wilder twice to quadruple the aj payday until I saw him at a ton.

Because he's seen as good but won't be a threat. Somehow wasnt up on the cards and doesn't appear to have it in him to keep the pace and go 12 rounds to overcome those scorecards or finish Wilder, also he will most likely be worse than last time. Perfect cherry picked opponent.
Spot on Josh but you didn't really answer my question did you?
It was a bit of a trick question I guess because the bloke has done nothing to warrant another shot since his last one. The only justification is that he gave him a good fight last time.
Still, never mind. After he has disposed of Ortiz next up is the great Adam Kownacki. Do try to contain your excitement. Who wants to see him fight Joshua anyway?

I answered the point of view of Wilder and his team as they're the ones who've cherrypicked here. Low threat, comparably (still not very) high reward.
That just got me thinking, if Wilder doesn't face Fury or Joshua next year. Who can he even face instead? Ortiz 3? Kownacki 2?

This is a great fight, No complaints from me. Ortiz out-boxed Wilder. Wilder got the gap between rounds.
Ortiz could win. Wilder might be on better juice than he was and Ortiz is older...but even so... Far, far better than AJ and Fury's next opponents.

The Wilder-Ortiz rematch will be a good fight and definitely fun to watch, but one that I feel it is unnecessary.
The Cuban hasn’t earned his second shot at the title and there are far more deserving contenders that worked hard for the opportunity to face ‘The Bronze Bomber’. It's still a dangerous fight for Wilder to take though.
That being said, I reckon Wilder will find it easier to beat Ortiz for the second time. He’ll be more confident, more aggressive and will throw far more bombs.
If I’m right about Deontay being much busier and letting his hands go, then I’d be surprised to see the Cuban to survive six rounds or more.
It’s time for one of the most over-hyped heavyweights in recent history, ‘King Kong’ Ortiz, to retire.

Most boxers that get world title shots never really do anything to warrant a shot. Unless you’re mandatory.
Ortiz is a voluntary defence isn’t he?
What did Breazeale or Molina do to warrant a shot at AJ? Nothing really. They were hand picked.
Just like many other challengers before us.

Yes but this is his second shot in under two years. There's no excuse for that when the man who ought to have been mandatory for his first shot instead of Breazeale is being treated like sh1t by Sulaiman and his fellow crooks.

He’s done more than Stiverne. He became mandatory for nearly losing to a journeyman and failing a drugs test before his Povetkin fight. Haha
Where are all the people who claimed Ortiz was wronged in the first fight?

Wilder will knock Ortiz out again. Ortiz will probably be more economical and cautious, but he's just not that type of a fighter to avoid the right hand all the time or take it well.

..just wondering how much they'll pay Ortiz for a rematch, surely a lot less than he was promised to box AJ..
