wilder vs fury 2 confirmed
Re: wilder vs fury 2 confirmed
Fury for me. He got caught out acting the fool wouldn't again. I doubt the fight will happen.
Re: wilder vs fury 2 confirmed
At times I think just that. Maybe AJ is really a fraud, but then I come to my senses and just remember that boxing is just fvked up.overhand_right wrote: ↑01 Jun 2019, 04:34 Fury boxes Joshua's head off and Wilder blows it off with his gun shot right. AJ is champion of the casuals division, Hearns knows it and will continue to milk it in the hope someone else neutralises Fury and Wilder.

DAZN are the ones putting the money up, Hearn may have a bit of say but I very much doubt that he will be telling DAZN what to do with their money.liamlion wrote: ↑01 Jun 2019, 09:57 No way. Joshua is Eddie Hearn or more specifically Matchroom’s fighter contractually. There is no way DAZN have the ability to unilaterally offer fight contracts to other fighters binding Joshua without regard to Hearn, who also has to answer to Joshua and his other partner Sky Sports.
Any offer from DAZN will have had major input from Eddie Hearn and Joshua and would have to be sanctioned by those two before being publicised. To suggest otherwise is simply inaccurate and fantasy.
The exact same setup applies with Canelo, Golden Boy and DAZN.
Hearn wasn't even at the meetings, I'm sure he was kept abreast of what went down, but John Skipper took the lead in negotiations with Wilder.
'fantasy'? I'm no fan boy mate, just going off what I have seen and heard.

Wilder will show more confidence and work on his range, easy KO.

It's confirmed when they announce a date and venue
Re: wilder vs fury 2 confirmed
You clearly don’t understand the relationship between the parties. Eddie Hearn and Joshua have the final say, Hearn specifically has much more than a “bit of a say” in Joshua career. He’s guided him all this way and isn’t going to relinquish control right when it’s at the big money stage. DAZN are contracted with Hearn’s Matchroom long-term. Hearn is contracted with Joshua long-term. DAZN and Joshua are not contracted mid-term, let alone long-term. Its basic contract law. Put simply, Joshua is Hearn’s client not DAZN’s. DAZN have no rights over Joshua except for the fight by fight deal that he agrees with them through Hearn.
Joshua can pursue any deal he wants in the US, which DAZN are very aware of. Hearn and DAZN are working together on a mutually beneficial basis. DAZN need big names to launch their streaming service. Hearn has access to lots of fighters and also the marketable and unified World Heavyweight Champion. DAZN are over paying for access to Hearn’s fighters, ensuring US content and exclusivity. No one is dictating to anyone and Hearn certainly isn’t telling DAZN what to do with their money. Hearn and DAZN are clever guys who are working together in their joint best interests.
Hearn has a big say as he is the gateway for DAZN to get access to and exclusive US coverage of Joshua. DAZN have certain expectations in terms of quality and volume of content as well as the big fights taking place in the US rather than Britain. Hence the friction between Sky (Adam Smith) and Eddie. Eddie is being pulled in two separate directions by his American and Uk broadcasting partners...
There was one meeting between Skipper and Finkel. This was agreed with Hearn in advance on the basis that negotiations had failed thus far and so there was nothing to lose by Hearn stepping aside in order for the parties to try and agree a deal in principle. That meeting yielded no commitment from Team Wilder and Skipper has gone back into the background.

Hearn has no say on fighters that fight on dazn that he doesn't promote. You're entirely correct.keirw wrote: ↑01 Jun 2019, 11:26 DAZN are the ones putting the money up, Hearn may have a bit of say but I very much doubt that he will be telling DAZN what to do with their money.

I know Hearn has a big say in Joshua's career, I'm simply saying that the offer put together by Skipper for Wilder was more DAZN hitting their financial limit than Hearn saying 'no more than that, he is not worth it' as many people insinuate.liamlion wrote: ↑01 Jun 2019, 18:39 You clearly don’t understand the relationship between the parties. If Joshua says to Hearn he wants Wilder next, Hearn will say to DAZN, try to get us Wilder
It will be assumed that the offer will be based on it being a Matchroom USA card, which may well have been a sticking point in negotiations.
I'm just saying that putting all the blame on Hearn and Joshua is wrong. They could have done a bit more, but then so could Wilder, who turned town a huge offer to fight three other fighters for a lot less combined than he would earn for one fight with Joshua, even if he does have to play the B side.
Re: wilder vs fury 2 confirmed
Pretty ballsy move to be signing a fight like this when you already got one scheduled with a dangerous opponent in Luis Ortiz. Ortiz is every bit as dangerous as Fury in a lot of ways for Wilder so Wilder certainly better not be overlooking him. I don't know that it's any easier for Wilder this time, but I do expect he can beat Ortiz again. Might be a little easier I guess, but certainly not something he can take for granted. Ortiz can crack too.

Ortiz has already been squashed by Wilder. He'll go out in round one this time. Wilder will be super confident, Ortiz will be 40+.gilgamesh wrote: ↑01 Jun 2019, 22:53 Pretty ballsy move to be signing a fight like this when you already got one scheduled with a dangerous opponent in Luis Ortiz. Re: wilder vs fury 2 confirmed
He was defeated by Wilder, but he damn sure wasn't squashed. He was ahead on the scorecards, and had Wilder very badly wobbled, and nearly out on his feet at one point in the 7th round. He gave him one of his toughest fights.overhand_right wrote: ↑01 Jun 2019, 23:30 Ortiz has already been squashed by Wilder. He'll go out in round one this time. I know what you mean but he was squashed in the end and that 10 round will be on each fighter's mind in round one this time. He's 40 and he didn't have the guts last time, won;t have it this time with super confident Wilder coming to behead him. We'll see but I expect a Wilder/Stiverne II replay.

Ortiz doesn't lack guts.overhand_right wrote: ↑01 Jun 2019, 23:36 I know what you mean but he was squashed in the end and that 10 round will be on each fighter's mind in round one this time.
