I don't think that's what's happening though.

The people posting today are mainly the ones that felt he was overrated in the first place.

Normally these posters would be shot down by the Joshua fans. For obvious reasons many of those aren't posting today.

So I don't think there are many who praised Joshua who have turned around and started criticising him. It's just the balance of those posting is different to normal.

...happens all the time, the usual euphoria...in a couple of weeks/months when the dust settles some will reassess the situation ....

I don’t think he was overrated, and the “linear” title is a hoax.

Joshua has been hit and hurt before and survived the fire.

Guys with glass jaws don't.

Last night Joshua showed that his chin is far from granite. But 1 KO defeat to a pretty fair puncher shouldn't banish the ex-champ to the Land of Khan.

I might be more inclined to cheer a guy because he is British but that alone is not enough. I'd cheer on Del Boy or Whyte vs anyone, but AJs been nithing but a manufactured SkyHearn hypejob since day 1.

I'm not British. And it's not the end of AJ, unless AJ decides it is. AJ has a lot to think about before moving forward. I've never change my thinking of AJ. Always thought he was flawed. Just didn't think it would be a Ruiz who would expose it.

I can assure you, a 'Wlad style rehabilitation' isn't on the cards. Because he doesn't need to change the way he fights. He just needs to prepare sufficiently and not overlook anyone, like Lewis also made the mistake of doing.

Difference with LL is that he wasn't beat up over several rounds. He got caught because he was careless. Joshua has flaws beyond preparedness or focus.

To be fair, AJ has faced more top-ten world-rated fighters than the vast majority of today’s top heavyweights and has rarely been troubled.

If I recall correctly, all three times he’s been hurt has been due to him recklessly attacking an opponent that had either only just been decked or seriously troubled themselves. AJ never really recovered from the third round of his bout against Ruiz Jr.

So I’d have to say that he has above average durability. Maybe he could be rated as a 7 or an 8.

I’m not sure about his stamina though. He fatigued badly during his bouts against Klitschko, Whyte and Ruiz Jr. And this problem, coupled with his willingness to take shots in order to land his own, are more serious issues to ponder than the sturdiness of his chin.

chin ain't bad in that he gets up...

but in boxing it's how you react once hurt...

Joshua actually not THAT bad but clearly his legs and stamina go out the window...

His chin isn't usually that bad, he has been clobbered in the past and survived.

I think it was the speed and timing of Ruiz that caught him out, he never got to grips with it. He also took a fair few body shots.

Prior to the fight I would have said a solid 6/10, after Saturday it must be dropped to about 4/10 and stay there until he proves otherwise.

Must admit I thought Joshua was the real deal!
Especially after he got up from Wladimir Klitschko's massive right hand.

I knew the fight was happening but thought it was going to be a definite Joshua win!

Thanks for the link. The only trouble is his neck looks much smaller than Wlad's the photo on the same link and Wlad's neck was about 18.5"
