The Joshua Chin

Post by Evander »

No better time than the present so let's update the rank on Anthony Joshua's chin.

1 low to a 10 high

6 at best 4 at worst for me ... he got dropped four times.

6 is about right. I don’t think it’s terrible, better than wlad’s probably.

Yeah. But worse, than Lewis' one, for example.

I don't know if it's his chin or it's ALWAYS been the case that after a few power shots he takes breathers.... His overly muscular body absorbs alot of oxygen when he exchanges power shots.... We just didn't see it happen enough times, but I knew from the Klitschko fight onwards that IF someone pressured him and stayed on him he would be dead to rights.

But his bigger problem is his shoddy defence and lack of ring iq.

And also an inability to deal with adversity, to fight out of the comfort zone.

Joshua China. Beautifully made, with nice contours and sparkling colors. Careful dont drop it, it will shatter.

He’s the heavyweight Khan.

I think his chin ain’t too bad. He’s taken shots before. This is HW’s. You’re gonna get clipped and get dropped at some point.

Are there any HW’s that have never been dropped in the modern era.

I think what done AJ was the head shots. Not so much chin.

Regarding head shots, Joshua has a small neck. Maybe 16 inches think. Very small for a man his size. While I think his chin is average, his ability to get up and have his legs under him is a major weakness.

Almost every poster today claims he knew that Joshua was not anything special.
Almost every poster voted for Joshua as No. 1 HW in the top 15 HW list (made by Dagilechia) not so long ago.

Not a great chin, nit great heart. It was the bodyshots that killed AJ imo, couldn't recover from the rippers in r6.

A lot of people did vote him number one because he held 3 of the 4 recognised belts and was unbeaten. Rankings were made based on records not predictions.

That doesn't mean people couldn't see the flaws. You'd have to be blind not to. But at that point no one had exposed them.

How anyone can vote for a "stiff robot, without heart and chin" ?
Simple hypocrisy.

Not really.

Rankings are generally based on achievements.

The guy had picked up 3 of the 4 belts and was ranked accordingly.

Now he's an ex champion who was dismantled. Things change quickly in boxing

Depends.

What's more important to you? That the heavyweight champion can fight or that he looks good in photos?
