He’s seriously underrating Campbell.

Think because of the way boxing is scored sometimes it brings reactions - Campbell was pretty much second best in every round, meaning he lost pretty much every round and will lose a wide decision. Sounds terrible when the cards are read out when you know he was competitive.
You can have another fighter win only three rounds - but clearly - in a poor fight and get a close decision and it seems wider somehow.
Loma for me potentially amazing... but Linares and Campbell both very competitive which indicates he's not yet head and shoulders above the rest of the world (or all of time!) - good fights out there need to be made.

Yeh. Luke was competitive every round more or less. You could see it, but Loma always did that bit more each round.
Sky seemed to focus only on Loma majority of the bout, having a wank over his footwork. I don't believe Loma has appeared on Sky before the Crolla fight, so Sky are jumping up and down.
Anyone that wanted Luke to do well, was probably more invested in what he was doing. It's very easy to watch a competitive fight and forcus mostly on one boxer.

When i watched this interview, my immediate thought was like the OP, that he just dissed both fighters.
With that said, i agree with most of what Barry Hearn was getting at, his summary was ok by me, i was just surprised he aired it on camera like that. It was as if he was implying Campbel is B level, if Loma was the great fighter he is being made out to be, he should have walked over Campbell much easier. Not to say he is too far wrong, but that is certainly disrespectful to Campbels credentials. If i was Campbel i'd be pissed watching my promoter talk like that.

Barry Hearn talks nonsense.
Surely the biggest surprise since Douglas beat Tyson.

Diabolical shot of Hearn Sr! He looks like a cackling, leering old drunk. Are these “moments” chosen on purpose, suggesting an attitude toward the subject of the interview?
But before slagging him off, he promoted some of the most talked about grudge matches and controversial fights in British boxing history.
Also he brought back Matchroom, reestablishing them with Prize Fighter. This novel and frugal format quickly became tiresome yet reestablished Mathchroom long after the glory days of Eubank Sr - and the handover launched Eddie’s career in the big time.

Watching it back Hearn actually said I had Campbell losing by around 4 or 5 rounds max not that he had him losing 4 rounds,When your summing up an interview you got make sure you get little things like that right otherwise it gives the interveiw a totally differnt spin from what was actualy said.

Audley launched Camp Eddie.

He came back with Prize Fighter, first one was good as the best 2 (Rogan & Dolan) met in an exciting final. Then Audley won a Prize Fighter, leading to his dramatic European title win over Sprott - then, as you hint at, he became cannon fodder for Haye on PPV.
But before Prize Fighter, Matchroom had been quiet in boxing.

F.Warren: Barry Hearn Losing Marbles With His Loma Comments
A BRITISH AUDIENCE was treated to seeing the majestic movements of Vasyl Lomachenko first hand on Saturday night but one man – a boxing figure from the past – was seemingly not impressed with what he witnessed from the magical Ukrainian.
Barry Hearn told us via a post-fight interview that Loma is not all he’s cracked up to be and he had the game challenger Luke Campbell a lot closer in the fight. I think the old boy must be losing his marbles…
But then I do recall that this is the man who proclaimed Herbie Hide as the superior of Muhammad Ali!
I think we all have to acknowledge that a man with an amateur record of 396-1, including two Olympic gold medals, and a three-weight world champion all inside of 15 professional fights is something a bit special.
That is just a brief summary of a resume that demands the respect of awarding him legendary status and I don’t believe there can be any disputing this.
Lomachenko is different class and I take my hat off to Campbell for being there at the end. Campbell was the far bigger man with a much greater reach, but the Ukrainian was hardly troubled in the fight.
His hand speed, footwork, the angle that he finds are just something else and he is really operating well out of his natural weight class.
For me, he is the best I have seen in the last 25-30 years, without a doubt.
I understand the plan now is for Lomachenko to unify all the titles at lightweight before Bob Arum is going to return him to the world of feather to mop up the remaining marquee fights at the lower weights.
I am not sure if this is good or bad news for the top boys at super feather and feather, but there are still some very appealing fights down there to further cement the Lomachenko legacy.

Bazza is irrelevant. Dosnt know his arse from his elbow anymore. Fails to realize Loma is a blown up featherweight forced himself to move up 2 divisions to find competitive fights. Campbell is a huge lightweight and was convincingly beaten. People are giving Campbell alot of credit for surviving which i just dont get.
Yup that’s the thing he giving away a lot of natural size to these guys but still dominating them.
