This pudenda on the radio saying Rooney would love to do a charity fight. Bet this happens.

Eddie saying the 'old guard' need to understand how to gain new fans from Youtube

To be fair to Hearn, it might be beyond us, but a lot of people watched the first one.

It's not that I have anything against watching stuff on You Tube, per se.

If a person is doing vlogs or video chats on subjects on stuff you're interested in, it's technically just the internet version of watching TV.

But people do seem over obsessed with it. The fact that two people who have vlogs get millions of buys in a PPV boxing match is beyond me. Why watch that over proper boxing? Doesn't make any sense to me.
Its daft teenagers who watch it. I seen the first fight and watched it with my 14 year old. She didnt have a clue who was winning but it was a good close entertaining fight.

Logan paul will win the rematch though

It is what it is, Its a bit naff and Eddie cant have no complaints about the stick coming his way, but the phoney outrage needs to stop, boxing will carry on regardless after this crap and the next crap, Saunders style wont attract casual fans and nobody cares about Badou Jack after his slot on Mayweather vs McGregor, as I say it is what it is, it would be great if all the hard working deserving boxers got their dues but boxings never worked like that, every pro boxer knew that long before these 2 tits appeared

How many watched because of the platform and cheap price? I read that KSI vs Joe Weller had a bigger audience on YouTube, and Weller isn't half the name Paul is, but the Weller fight was free.

Will that audience migrate?

Hearn put on the Srisaket vs Estrada 2 card on a Friday night in California and the ticket sales bombed as a result of timing and transport. Hearn needs to begin to realise the supposed audience and what he's selling and how.

I have to say, I am excited for this.

Purely because of how shit the first fight was, Logan has been training extremely hard since then and his progression has been insane! Not too sure about JJ because he's kept it quite but I'm expecting this fight to be so much better than the last one.

Also, this is a pro fight! The last one had head-guards and 12oz gloves!

To be fair to Hearn, he's just doing his job. This'll bring in interest to the sport, whether we like it or not.

Is that true, or have you just made that up?

If so, I've decided that this guy I previously knew nothing about is a total bellend.

Poor role models. You’ve got kids out there who think they don’t need to bother with school because they’ll end up Instagram or YouTube influencers. These couple of divs do not need encouragement.

What are they actually famous for? Internet personality? Fvck me the kids of today have it bad don’t they? Having to look up to nobodies like this. Not a good thing at all in all seriousness

dbf wrote: 03 Sep 2019, 07:47 If the rumours are true and Hearn has pretty much confirmed his involvement, what do you guys think? Is this just a step too far from Hearn/Matchroom? Its basically a money grab from him, but I'm interested to see how it works as it sounds like it will be a youtube PPV again. Does this compromise Hearn's contract with SKY (exclusivity both ways I believe). I know the 'fight' will be in the US but hes talking about putting BJS on there. Imagine that, a two time world champ and former olympian on the undercard of two Youtubers who have only previously boxed white collar. That's got to hurt.

Thoughts?
Who are these people? Boxers? Never heard of them...

See I'm not sure about this. It will bring interest to that event, but this is marketed at a generation who spend most of their lives on their playstation. The only boxing they will get to watch if they have Sky Sports is some shite NXTGEN card or similar. If he thinks they will spend twenty quid on his next PPV instead of on Fortnite, he's deluded.

Besides, this generation know the most about watching stuff like this for free so the streaming numbers for illegal viewers will go through the roof. Not sure that will in any way impact the sport going forward personally.

Nah you won’t get anyone watching this getting into boxing, it’s basically teenagers and under who are interested, pisses me off a bit that these two will make more from this fight than some world champions will make in a career, Hearn just sees a pound note to be made.

Funny you say that, geezer I work with was talking to his niece and she more or less said I don’t have to bother with school, it’s easy to make over a hundred grand a year blogging on YouTube

The key is to make it so other people's kids keep believing that, while you instill your kids with the right stuff, and then, bam = your kids get ahead
