F=ma
But if a newton studied boxing he’d probably add..
F=((ma)-d)(Ac + did you see it coming)-C
Force = (mass x acceleration) minus deceleration(the speed the struck fighter is moving away when rolling with the punch) multiplied by Accuracy(point of chin, liver etc) times “were they expecting it” - C (chin)
Chin would probably need some clever dick to calculate a new formula - it’s a much bigger mystery than power.
Aye smatface, thats what I'm saying.

I remember Nunn v Kalambay - nailed on points decision as most of their fights went the distances. A classic chess match- Nunn in the first round with a perfectly timed left hook

Speed kills
The punches you don't see hurt you

It's something akin to throwing a javelin. It's either already in you to do it well, or just forget about it. All the training in the world is worth maybe a 10% improvement.

And remember deceleration can be a negative value, or just acceleration, when a fighter moves into a punch.
I’m making a mess of GCSE Physics here but I think impact is momentum change. Momentum is mass by speed. Speed is velocity in a certain direction(?).
The speed is how fast the punch travels and if it travels directly towards the target (not a glancing blow)
Mass isn’t just the size of the fighter, good technique will allow you to put more of your total weight behind the punch.
If you see a punch you’ll move away from it, changing the momentum.
So if a heavy object moves quickly and directly towards another heavy object moving quickly and directly in the opposite direction, that’s the biggest impact. Like two big trucks in a head-on collision
Is that right?

Yes.
Deceleration could be added acceleration and increase the total power - and often does. The ‘glancing blow’ thing should be taken care of by the Ac = for accuracy.

So we’re both geniuses. Good

Zelezny weighing 190 backs this up. Whereas Capes was 300+ in the shot and wouldn't have been anywhere close.
