Man, boxing is losing ground even more in the US. Like I said, I remember just a few years ago when Broner was hitting near a 1 million on Show, HBO was pumping out 1m+ , and then now we have this. Heck, Pac is down to just 400k on PPV now, though that is still nearly as many as watched this

Dude pulls around 500k and gets talked up as the hottest draw in the sport, with a forum warrior to defend that to the death, what happened to boxing

Wilder did break a million on Show a few times I think though (Broner almost did too), about double the popularity of this. I'll give him that. He must be the real hottest draw

Don't see corrollation of Showtime views to PPV potential. Wilder did over a million for Breazeale on Showtime (on multiple platforms) and less then 300k on PPV vs Ortiz. Not sure what EO is going on about.

Even if the numbers are par for the course for the network, they are pretty dismal if these were the numbers for the next big ppv draw. Tank was paired with a quality co-main as well.

Imo, I feel it's indicative of the health of the sport. In the United States at least.

Agree, it's even more disconcerting if our boi EO is right, it's pretty sad for usa boxing if a 577k average is the new Showtime king / next PPV star/wow such great ratings number, much better numbers were seen even just a few years ago.

Remember, several media sources are only claiming that Davis is a future PPV star. There’s a huge difference between what you’re saying and reality.

Also, citing notable exceptions doesn’t prove that you’re aware the of Showtime’s typical viewing figures.

Pbc/Showtime call him the hottest draw in boxing, in the entire sport. If that's true with a number like 577k, it is depressing for the state of usa boxing. And lol, oh okay, those numbers better than his don't count

You look for technicalities to win arguments. It's obvious Thatcher's point was that the views were low for a fighter deemed the next big ppv star. I don't see where that view is faulty. Yet you hang your argument on something inconsequential as showtime boxing averages should not really apply when talking the next big ppv draw. Broner-Garcia had almost 900k. Even Garcia-Porter cashed in with nearly 100k more than this past weekend's viewership. Tank should be doing better numbers than that, no?
