Least disciplined in order

1) Spinks
2) Ruiz
3) Bowe
4) Douglas

Most natural talent

1) Bowe
2) Douglas
3) Spinks -kinda tied w/ Douglas
4) Ruiz

Spinks was better than Ruiz, Douglas waz leaps and bounds better, bowe is so much better it's like it's a different sport.
Bowe had the best natural physique for the division of all the above mentioned and the most potential. But what they all have in common is a lack of discipline.

If Marciano's brain could be implanted in Ruiz, he'd have a few more big wins, but like I've said I'd be amazed if he got his sh!t together.
Nothing links those fighters. If Ruiz had discipline he'd be a gate keeper at 75.

Bowe had the shortest spann of an elite fighter among the guys. Or maybe Douglas. I do think it is Bowe.

He did looked pretty wreck'd after the last Holyfield-fight. He did win. But, Holyfield had... juiced it up good... since his stamina was crazy and he didn't slowdown that much.

Hope that Ruiz gets his focus and arse back in the ring and does something of relevans in the future.

Ruiz at a piggish 268 KO'd AJ. At a still piggish 255 he lost a very close decision to 21-0 Joe Parker. I am NOT a Ruiz fan. I don't like him.

IF he had discipline and came in <240, I think guys like Whyte, Parker, would certainly have their hands full fighting him. In other words, he coulda been a contendah.

Don't count on it. I think Ruiz will go the way of Douglas.

Obviously, we've all been surprised before. I'd put the odds against Ruiz at about 10-1. At best he's a top 10 guy or a flash in the pan champion. Even at a comparative svelte 220, I'd still favor the top 3 or so guys against him.

He did perform on the hight thinkable level in the heavyweight div and waste it all next time out and also being outboxed real good all night. Well, he didn't have AJ's number as he thought.

He either learns from this or not. Then again he is one of those guys with something extra. His chin got tested good in the first fight with AJ. And nothing wrong with his skillset either.

Make a statement or not, he can trash some poor but pretty solid bum with a nice paycheck in about two rounds or fight a top fighter.
And he does have a name in the game. Lets hope that he still got some fire in his bell.

A sharp Ruiz could be a problem for anyone. Just needs that focus. Since he did go out and spend his cash between his last fights, so lets hope he is working out. Just cause, it is good for boxing if the heavyweights are rocksolid at the top 10 with many known names.

Mexicans are great fans, so it would be excellent to have a serious Mexican HW. Ruiz obviously has talent. Good hand speed and he can take a shot. He's arguably top 10 even in lousy shape. This is another one of those examples where the fans care more than the fighter.

Would pretty awesome with a stadium fight in Mexico City or something against a top guy.

And yeah, mexicans loves their guys. Happy that they got Ruiz.

They must feel the way Panamanian fans felt after "No Mas." Duran recovered to a small degree. Let's see if Ruiz does.

Ruiz V Kownacki would be a barn burner for Andy to bounce back, six round fight max , I like both fighters to be fair-and yes, Ruiz is a class act!

Yeah, I'd say to a small degree. He went the distance with Hagler. His best win after "No Mas" was likely Iran Barkley or Davey Moore. Perhaps Cuevas. But his huge wins were over by that time.

I'm out of fat jokes, so I'll actually say something nice.

Even though he should be roughly 220, even @ 260, I do think he has the skill and chin to be a 6 thru 10 HW in any era.
He could outpoint guys like Joe Hipp or Wepner and they were the lower rung of the top 10.

Andy Ruiz could have been a contender? The man has a win ovee superhyped Anthony Joshua and is a former unified HW champion.

Fat isnt always neccesarily the worst thing in boxing, more weight can equal more punching power and more stamina. Would a 200 pound version of Butterbean gotten anywhere at heavyweight?

Andy Ruiz is a damn fine boxer who is 1 and 1 with a reigning chumpion and with his recent success he has the world watching him.

?

Still the fat man is a 6-10 type contender in any decade.

I wouldn't count on him making top 10 in every era. It took him a decade just to make the consensus top 10 now and he's lost his only fight since then. He's 1-2 vs top 10 guys and I think unlikely to replicate anything like his big win again. Not a reliable guy and I doubt he's striking lightning in every era.

True but if Ruiz never fights again he can always say he was heavy champ and beat the PED goat 🐐 Anthony Joshua. I’ll never tire of watching a fat dwarf beat up the juiced up Joshua like that. And he’s way better than a lot of the 70s contenders some of them were awful
Has AJ ever flunked a PED test?

I thought Ruiz deserved the nod against Parker. If you look at any decade, I think Ruiz would have a very good chance beating the 7,8,9, and 10 guys.

Boxing is riddled with talented guys who never reach their potential because they are undisciplined
