Imagine if Alp was actually a fan of Slick Cat, erm, Big Cat.
Imagine if it was one of the Klitschkos or Tyson Fury. I'm sure there would be no excuses ever mentioned if they lost a fight after literally being pulled out of the crowd at the last minute. That's why trainers advise it all the time.

Imagine if they made a comeback after being shot. Four surgeries. Losing over 50 pounds. Imagine losing a kidney, still having the bullet in his body when fighting. To think that he wouldn't be as good as ever is just crazy talk. Surely there would be no excuses given if the Klitschkos or Fury had fought under those circumstances.

Yeah lets just go with statistics. That always works well in boxing.
33-1, wow he must have been experienced. Lets just ignore that not one them was against name opponent. Forget that he had been a pro for a only a couple of years.
And lets forget that he got pulled form the crowd at the last minute and had no idea that he was going to fight that night.

Let's just go with numbers. He got stopped 8x. He must not have been any good.

How about Ezzard Charles? Got stopped 7x.
How about Ruben Olivares? Stopped 9x.
How about Willie Pep? Got stopped 6x. Guess his defense was not any good.

What a bunch of stiffs.

Yes he got knocked down as a young fighter before the Satterfield fight. Wow, what a great rebuttal. You really countered all the points.

It's hilarious, how Ali fanatics are ready to kill for the Sick Cat, Slick Bat, Big Hat Williams or whatever he was called.

Yes I am one of many who are members of Cleveland Williams fan club. You got me. (We meet every Tuesday night.) He retired before I was born, and for many years the only highlights available of him were him getting ko'd by Ali. But yes, somehow I am just a huge fan.

He wasn't a great fighter. He also wasn't the stiff that you guys paint him out to be. Just want to be fair.

I would not count it against any fighter if they lost when they took a fight at about the last minute when they didn't know they were fighting that night. What trainer wouldn't want their fighter to do that?

Also don't think that anyone would be close to their prime after they were shot, had four surgeries, lost over 50 pounds, lost a kidney and still carried around the bullet in their body. Wouldn't count those fights against anybody. But hey, that's me.
Again, obviously that most trainers would think that is the ideal situation.

Whoever lands first, basically. This is one of those matches that is too hard for me to determine because they were a lot of like in different ways even though Williams was the better boxer of the two but Earnie hit much harder than Williams did.

Shavers in about 3 rds. Williams best win was over Ernie Terrell, Shavers dropped Young, Lyle, Norton and Holmes.

Never said he was slick. Never said he should be in the Hall of Fame. Never said he was great. Have never started a topic on him; unlike your little buddy who has started how many, four?

Just have pointed out that he was a lot harder to hurt than you guys claim he was. He was not a legend, but he wasn't the joke which you guys paint him out to be.

This is definitely a question of who lands first. Two absolutely brutal punchers, Shavers has the better career but he could be stopped, quarry in 1 springs to mind and he got stopped by ron stander somehow, early in his carer though.

mmm, im still going with shavers, I reckon he gets in first shavers ko2
