Henry Armstrong I think Is the best answer. Some others that were really good are Chavez, Fraizer, Hell even Loma was and still Is a guy I really enjoy watching. His ability to switch angles while keeping pressure on you and fighting at a high volume was and Is amazing. But I think the title has to go to Armstrong.

Bennie Briscoe applied some serious pressure.

- Big George pressure from start to finish in both careers was also a vastly more intelligent fighter and human being than the typical stereotyping press could ever conceive.

Vitali a different boxing style also a monster of pressure, the two size matters Kings... :TU:

In recent years Golovkin. Not a swarmer but that lead foot was there all the time.

For British fans --- Lloyd Honeyghan.

Qawi was like Joe Frazier, but with a better jab and head movement. I'll add Rodrigo Valdez.

The very first Old school fighter I would think of would be Fireman Jim Flynn. It's how he beat Sam Langford (along with a huge cut on sam) But Flynn at his best would really pressure guys particularly guys with a longer reach as he wouldn't even give them room to get set. He would dig is head in right under their chin. There's a great example of this technic in the words used from the newspaper article which I read word for word if you look in youtube flynn vs carl morris.

I'm sure legions of fighters seen Flynn since he fought through such a long time frame & took things from him and those fighters passed it on down the line...

Always was interested in Flynn and that era. Maybe Tom Sharkey also?

Question though, are we including only great fighters who were big pressure guys or are we also tossing in fighters who were maybe not great but good and applied a huge amount of pressure because there have been a slew of those. Troy Dorsey, comes to mind.

It's interesting that Duran is being mentioned here and also in best all round boxers thread. To me the Greatest Pressure Fighters are unrelenting guys like Frazier, Fenech etc. Surely Duran can't be both.

You can stop right there, imo. Smoke was the best.

Roberto Duran was one of the most aggressive, relentless and complete fighters the sport has ever known. What are you talking about?

Well, I recently watched his fights with Hagler and Hearns and he didn't look like a pressure fighter in either of those fights. Do you disagree?

What about the others? All you know about Roberto Duran is the 80s? As a matter of fact, were you around in the 1970s, or you was born in the 80s?

Because it seems to me that the only thing you know about him was his fights in the 80s decade.

"Boom Boom" was constantly advancing, I would list him also.
