A year or so ago I got fed up with the lies about that fight and had to go and make sure I wasn’t misremembering. I don’t know why on earth I did, but I watched it again. 115-113 is fair I think and 116-112 would be ok. Someone on this forum always posts that after the final bell, Wlad was favourite on in-play betting.

It was dire though, I think Martin vs Glazkov was worse but it’s bottom 3. They put it on the Sly Sports YouTube channel during lockdown next to Inoue Donaire and Froch Groves for fornicate sake

It was an awful fight, but Haye - Valuev has got to be even worse. Haye won throwing 12 shots a round, less than half the punches that Fury threw (and about 100 less than Klitschko did). Valuev lumbered forward missing with arm punches all night.

I could imagine that being true I remember seeing a clip from years ago of some fight in Italy where the home fighter got KO'd and it took the ref about a minute to count to 10.

Haye - Valuev and Fury-Chis 2 were both worse than Fury-Wlad, there is a bit of a tendency to exaggerate how bad every wlad fight was

He really shouldn't have got away with that. I know it was down to his sheer ineptitude but still offensive.

The night Haye won the world title and lost all his credibility. After telling anyone who'd listen he was totally going to flatten the giant, he throws four shots a minute and runs almost every second.

I invited loads of people round to watch it on a projector, I literally apologised to people after the fight.

Kev Mitchell (not the cock feeder) thought it was a 12-0 Haye masterclass, he really had a boner for Haye

Don’t understand what people think Haye should’ve/could’ve done differently against Valuev, it was quite an unbelievable job he had on his hands unlike anything anyone had seen before especially since he was just a plumped up cruiser, I thought Haye did what was necessary and did it well, I for one couldn’t take my eyes off the screen.

I didn't think there was the need to be so tentative. Valuev was huge but not a big puncher at all and fairly easy to hit. Haye could've won much more convinving if he'd let his hands go more and not been so flighty. The last round showed he could hurt him too, could've perhaps scored a highlight reel timber but instead averaged like 10 punches and 20 laps a round and never put a clear stamp on it. Not sure what is so great about that.

Don’t blame him at all, Haye didn’t exactly have a granite chin, it was a very tough job for him and he did what was needed he’s not bloody superman!

Sure, he did the minimum to win an md, not sure what's so unbelievable or great about that. He could've won a lot more convincingly , he had it in him

Valuev was passed his peak and riddled with chronic injuries, which is why he retired immediately.

That Arturo Gatti is worth HOF. RIP tho.
