in at least one case very early ufc NHB days Asbel Cancio was listed as a Ving sun Gung\wing chun kung fu student @ ufc 5. he was ground and pounded with punches from mount by Dave Beneteau in 21 seconds

Let's say a pro with ten round level experience, not a PFP guy or even a world champion. I'm talking on the street, no wraps or gloves.
Other than what other guys have mentioned, I would also add that some of the techniques I have seen guys use, look good because they are fast (punches in particular) but there is no real body weight behind them. Most people can't arm punch hard enough to deter a pro fighter, so they would likely just be walked down. From what I have seen, and this might not be completely true of all styles, movement isn't used as much because it make the strike slower.

There is a guy in my area who is very successful as a MT fighter and he has a Kung Fu background and considers himself a Kung Fu fighter but in reality he uses standard boxing/MT strikes like 95% of the time but uses a lot of movement in a similar way to how Ali did which goes against the traditional MT school.
