i mean, i understand ppl thinking he's not far off or that he's boarderline, but just rather weird to think he's already a lock and then be shocked when ppl disagree
Those folk need to take a look at EO's list, that tells all about the level needed.

He's probably sealed it when he beats Pacquiao.

I think people either don’t realise all the impressive names I listed aren’t Hall-of-Famers, or they’re not aware of the accomplishments of those fighters.

he won the title from a broken brook...but that wasnt spences fault...so on paper brook was still a live fighter close to prime. since he won the title he has only fought 1 live prime welter and that is porter...who i rateas a top 3 welter in the last 5 years or so. apart from that close win he has just fought smaller, older past it fighters. pacman great as he is was past his best even when mayweather chose to fight him....
so until spence fights crawford , which he is clearly avoiding, the answer has got to be no.

I'm aware of Pac's age, but that win combined with the solid resume Spence already has probably puts him over the hump if he isn't there already.

If Spence Jr. beats Manny, is he more Hall-of-Famer worthy than Timothy Bradley, Genaro Hernandez, James Toney and Carl Froch?

No, but he's a little closer, and I don't expect he'll be losing his title anytime soon since Crawford clearly ain't gonna fight him. Though that Jaron Ennis could be a problem for him too, and he's a PBC fighter so he can't avoid him long I don't figure.
Beating Manny would probably even him up with Tim Bradley who really only has 2 HOF Worthy victories to his credit, and one of 'em was a robbery. So really he's got 1.

Besides all of us having different standards for what a hall of famer is. The real physical Hall of Fame has it's own set of confusing and contradictory standards. Often it's more of a popularity contest then the actual qualifications of the fighters. That said, Spence isn't a hall of famer at this point, even in the widest most-inclusive HOF. He needs more career-defining wins over other hall of fame worthy fighters. This is why a win over Pac or Crawford would be crucial at this point.

At his age RJjr had beat BHOP, James Toney, made Vinny Paz look mediocre, beat Jorge Castro and brutally koed Virgil Hill.
At this point in lil Spences career he has ducked Terrence Crawford, what an accomplishment.

I must have missed that.

Not having accomplished as much as Roy Jones, and not having accomplished anything. There's a lot of wiggle room in between those 2 things.
He's more accomplished than Crawford who you claim he ducked. Meanwhile he has bigger wins than Crawford, and is about to get another one.

Say Gilgamesh. Do you remember back in 2000 when Roy was 31 years old how he went after and beat the crap out of Thomas Hearns and by doing so finally established himself as an elite fighter?

Nope, and I also don't remember Thomas Hearns winning a Light Heavyweight Title against an unbeaten guy that was much younger than him in 1998 so your example doesn't fit.
Nice try though.

After Spence beats Pacquiao he will finally get the respect that he deserves.

The IBO wasn't considered important in 1999, and I've never heard of Nate Miller.
Keith Thurman was one of the top rated Welterweights going into the Pac fight.
It might still not be enough to put Spence over the top of being in the Hall of Fame, but it's a good step forward.
You can't blame a guy for taking the biggest money fight out there for him. He'll get more money to fight Pac than he would to fight Crawford, or anyone else. Why wouldn't he fight him?

Is this seriously even questionable? IMO, this kids career is just getting started. Now if he finally nuts up and finds a way to make the Crawford fight happen and wins, we’ll then you could clearly call him the top WW for a significant length of history. So then, yes. He’s in. But beating up a 41 year old legend along with solid wins against 2 or 3 former champs that now sit with multiple losses, to me, no. If his career ended tomorrow, he’s not done enough
