whyte has a pretty good track record of taking challenging fights, and he was mandatory before wasnt he and still fought good opposition

i'll say yes, he beats wallin without a horrific cut like fury had, then talks up having done a better job than fury, and they fight next

I do wonder how long DAZN is going to last at this rate. From what I understand, the number of subscribers has taken a hammering since the price increase. If they’re already considering introducing PPV, the writing may be on the wall.

if the budgets just don't add up, instead of rinsing fans, why not go back to the boxers and say, sorry old chaps, but a zero needs to come off the purses. you're multi-millionaires, and if we're not careful we'll go down the swanny. we want PPV to be "special". you're not world champs, and many world champs can't get onto PPV so lets be a bit more realistic.

I think this realistically comes down to Canelo's salary. His purse per fight is probably as much as the rest of all DAZN cards put together for 6+ months. They were hoping he would bring more subscribers, which he may have done, but it doesn't cover the costs. Especially when you need all the other sports aswell.

Dunno. Saunders got 6/7mil vs Canelo. WBC have 55-45 split ratio. Fight will be worth around 25mil I’d say.

I thought DAZN would end up with low level build up content, and then PPVs on top.
And I'm far from a genius.
I cancelled my subscription due to lack of actual boxing. I knew the model would not work to get the big fights under the monthly subscription and was surprised the Canelo fight was on there without an extra cost.

Buying a ticket to a Boxing show in the UK now is risky business. Fights being cancelled left right and centre, issues with refunds and of course in many cases it's the main event gets cancelled.

Ticket sales were poor for this supposedly. With a high prices, it's time the paying fans stop getting conned. It's not right all this shady nonsense.

I think it's a poor show, if Whyte had confidence in his chances against Fury, he'd take the fight, and view it as a chance to hone his skills, as it is, he clearly is just looking for his retirement fund fight with Fury.

Glad I got rid of these tickets. Bought for 90 quid and sold for 70… rather go watching Bolton vs Portsmouth and Bolton are wank.

Wallin unfortunately is not ranked in the top 15 by WBC so probably couldn't be in a final eliminator.

Perhaps we could speculate that Wallin may have got the fight because he wasn't ranked by the WBC and couldn't take Whytes mandatory spot
