My expectations have never been extremely high for him at HW, given his size and power. I think that the problem might be that he no longer believes that he can get to the top, which is a debilitating realization.KiwiRider wrote: ↑16 Dec 2021, 13:37I keep expecting Hunter to produce.
I'm optimistic he can. The Forest fight lowered my expectations somewhat.
He is 33, so it can't be age, so like you say, it could be motivation. And yet he hasn't really been out of shape either, so he must be doing something in the gym.

He's just waiting to get his man strength. He's just a nipper. Growing into his size. He'll be unbeatable when he does.ironbeard wrote: ↑16 Dec 2021, 14:20My expectations have never been extremely high for him at HW, given his size and power. Re: Hughie Fury vs. Michael Hunter?
Sorry. But given that Hughie already has the jab and footwork of Muhammad Ali (albeit a white one) when he gets his man strength he will also get his power. Like a white George Foreman. The white Ali / Foreman hybrid will be unstoppableironbeard wrote: ↑16 Dec 2021, 14:59I was speaking of Hunter, not Baby Fury.JamesPhilips wrote: ↑16 Dec 2021, 14:56He's just waiting to get his man strength. Re: Hughie Fury vs. Michael Hunter?
I can’t say that I envision that level of growth in Hughie, but an “Ali/Foreman hybrid” is welcomed to my HW world anytime.JamesPhilips wrote: ↑16 Dec 2021, 15:02Sorry. Re: Hughie Fury vs. Michael Hunter?
you never know, he hasnt even gone through puberty yet, foreman levels of power might be achievable, to go along with his ali level shades
Re: Hughie Fury vs. Michael Hunter?
Aw mate , he left his ali shades on the train. Apparently picked up by a hobo who was last seen wearing them while running into brick walls in the underground trying to get to Hogwarts.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑16 Dec 2021, 15:11 you never know, he hasnt even gone through puberty yet, foreman levels of power might be achievable, to go along with his ali level shades

Would be good if Hughie, Hunter, Hrgo, Wallin, Joyce, Sanchez, Gassiev, Kabayel etc fought some of each other. Then we might figure out who is the real deal and who isn't.

If you disagree you are denying math.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑16 Dec 2021, 00:40 hughie's just a pup, gonna be a force when he grows up
if he's this good in his late 20s, imagine how good he'll be with extra training and experience when he's in his late 40s. in pure mathematical terms, he'll be at least double the fighter
Re: Hughie Fury vs. Michael Hunter?
I have no opinion on that one, since I haven’t bothered to watch it, yet.
. . . and probably never will
Re: Hughie Fury vs. Michael Hunter?
i think Fury gets the win , i expect him to improve on his last fights and do a job if he got the chance against hunter , hunter hasnt done anything for me dont look like a heavey weight either
Re: Hughie Fury vs. Michael Hunter?

Re: Hughie Fury vs. Michael Hunter?
that's exactly what i'm saying, this guy in his late 20s is just a boy still, hasnt gotten his man strength yet
Re: Hughie Fury vs. Michael Hunter?
right all jokes aside ,Man strenght , is that a new term, i am late 30s i never remember my dad saying that or older brother, my mate in his 20s propper boxing fan uses that term, is it a new thing, margaret thatcher wrote: ↑17 Dec 2021, 23:05 that's exactly what i'm saying, this guy in his late 20s is just a boy still, hasnt gotten his man strength yet
Re: Hughie Fury vs. Michael Hunter?
People will forever take the piss because of Fat Mick's mad quote after the fight, but Hughie did actually win that. They both landed next to nothing, but Parker missed more. It's definitely a fight to never watch again, so I've never given it a reappraisal, but I couldn't see how Parker got it at the time.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑16 Dec 2021, 15:11 you never know, he hasnt even gone through puberty yet, foreman levels of power might be achievable, to go along with his ali level shades
It seemed like Parker was aggressive and more marketable, so he got it based solely on that. But if you scored it properly, he could barely land a punch.

Re: Hughie Fury vs. Michael Hunter?
i cant even remember how i scored it, but i have no problem with jp getting the decision and dont think hughie was hard done by at all
parker throwing and missing isnt any worse than hughie not throwing and hence not landing. should've given each of them losses for that sh!t show

I'm not going to argue. At least Parker tried to make a fight of it. It was very poor from both.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑18 Dec 2021, 01:24 i cant even remember how i scored it, but i have no problem with jp getting the decision and dont think hughie was hard done by at all

He shoulda won clearly, tho'...
1 - Effective aggression - zero from both
2 - Ring Generalship and defence - it was Hughie "Shades of Ali" by a MILE.
